I started learning airchair like 2-3 weeks now and its getting better, but i do it from a chair freeze which i find easier then doin it straight from a squat, but when i watch tuturials on airchairs it always says doing it from a chair freeze is whats helps u get a airchair so im wonderin am i actually doin a airchair :S

an Airchair is a Freeze where you stab your elbow into your back and your hips are facing up. It doesnt matter HOW you do it, it just matters if you do it right.

to answer your question: yes it is an Airchair, and yes it helps to learn it when you do it from chair freeze but I also suggest you to learn it from squat cuz thats important for transitions

well that's kind of a captain obvious question without a question mark.
try to go to chair freeze from squatting. it's almost the same thing as trying to airchair from squatting.

now just practice different transitions and variations in and out of air chairs.

    roll back air chair
    air chair stacks
    spinning air chairs
    etc.

Stacks are when u lift up into a different freeze from air chairs. U can "stack" air chair into a elbow freeze and then into a air freeze.

Just experiment with different transitions. Try headstand into air chair, pike and drop into air chair. Shit like that.

It depends on what other moves you got and as you learn more moves its gona open up new doors for transitions and ideas.

U can also try different variation of air chairs just by switching leg positions.

Just keep experimenting. That's the beauty of this dance. U can do whatever u want.

also try falling into airchair from other freezes besides the chair freeze.
i recommend falling from the baby freeze or from the headstand. do it slowly at first so you won't die.
