so are you housing or are you toprocking?
the overall feel i get is a little too slow and playful---kinda like you set up a routine to the song (not that you necessarily did).
overall, you need more funk. your energy level is really monotonous like you're putting all your attention into putting moves out instead of just rockin.
style isn't defined by what kind of moves you have, but what you do to make the same moves everyone else uses unique/different.
i could have sworn i saw you do something that resembled jazz hands.
things that gotta go:
the imaginary jump roping
ski jumps from side-to-side (if you're going to do this one, don't make it look so slow---it's kind of boring)

wtf ski jumps? am I housing? yo what the hell man, I duno you but the way you come off seems like you dont have ur shit together. slow? lol peep the last song, that wasnt slow, and no im not toprocking, its more rocking then toprocking, and wtf are you going on about style for, that was all dance, no moves.
and just so you get a bit educated those arent "ski jumps." they are called boogaloo hops, and im still workin on them and incorporating them into my rocking. the jump roping is part of a burn, if you watch carefully you might understand the burn.
and I know you said that i didnt necessarily make up any routines, the fact of the matter is i didnt, that was straight off the dome, to the inexperienced it will come off as playful, to the knowledgable you know that that person is incorporating all the sounds of the music into their dance.
thanks for the effort on the criticism though, i appreciate it.

im here to post what i want to post and you can take it or leave it for whatever it's worth...but i don't see why you have to blast me like i disrespected you; i thought that was a bit severe.
how can you be so defensive if you're so confident in your knowledge?
i'm not gonna kiss your butt.
just ignore me man or leave a word that might point me in the right direction. i'm the first to comment on the video so give me some grace.
when it comes to dance, if i don't know what im talking about, i'm quick to accept correction...you didnt give any description of what you were doing---what else am i to do except interpret the video for myself?

my bad man, its just disrespectful to me when someone who doesnt know their shit tries to criticize me, maybe you shouldnt be posting whatever you want to post, maybe you should think twice before you post and not make urself look like a fool, its ok, we all dont know our shit from the start all I ask is that you learn your shit properly, thats all. and dont expect to just get whatever you want by demanding it. learning about the truth and the real in hiphop culture isnt easy, but i know that if you want to learn hard enough you will come acroos knowledge. I come defensive cause alot of the cats here on bboy.org are straight up big headed when all they really have is nothing. dont expect grace for being the first poster either. its just a vid too, i never asked you to criticize it either, although i dont care if people do or do not, as long as I know that im getting high quality criticism. oh yeah, dont expect descriptions for every video either, thats the beauty of art, art pieces dont come with descriptions. its often interpreted abstractly by the viewer themself, the way you interpret it however is best when you train the eye to view things that were once ignored, more in depth.

But other den dat....it wuz pretty dope! Peace n' Love!

Haven't seen you around in ages dude, good to see an older head back on the site.
I don't really know about any of the styles you mentioned so i can't really comment but for what it's worth, i agree that you were a little off beat.
Peace

I thought it was a nice effort and had good energy in it...actually I enjoyed it. But I can't say I really know about everything that was done in your rocking.
However, it's obvious that when you concentrate on your lower body movements, you ignore your upper body movements, and vice versa. When you focused on your arm movement burns, and hand gestures, you totally focused on that, and didn't do much with the feet except skip around. And with that same token, when you ripped it up with your feet, you didn't do much with your arms. So I would say just find a balance between your lower and upper body. Hope that makes sense.
My criticisms for your first set: I personally thought that you had a hand to your waist for too long your first routine--you should have varied your rocking more (the first clip). Oh yeah, the open armed rocking between seconds :57 - 1:00 threw me off cuz it looked kind of goofy, no offense. I particularly liked the linkage you created when you reached behind your back with one hand and ping'd the other hand that came boomeranging to the front.
I can't say it was bad, not that I would know. Just giving my opinion, ya know. But all in all, for a freestyle routine, it was decent.

worddd, good crits man, i really appreciate it. yeah i didnt notice that i was concentrating on just the upper body when i was focused on burns, and vice versa with just my lower body. I'll have to work on that. and yeah :57-1:00 did look goofy to me too, i was trying to incorporate some house type stuff in there but i agree it doesnt go. Yeah i was offbeat on some parts too, i kept practicing my boogaloo hops in there regardless of the beat just to see how they look like on cam you know. that last song was crazy though for real, theres so many beats to hit in there so i got offbeat in there too.
good crits peoples, thanks.
