i think the video is hip-hop.
it might not sound like hip-hop, but i think it help put RSC on the map in the mainstream realm during that time. in this way, the video spreads real hip-hop and therefore is hip-hop.
it's better than the filth of most rap anyway.

I saw this ages ago on RAGE, an Australian alternative music program that shows filmclips of all different genres and so i asked my teacher, who was part of the original RSC for a while, what the story was behind this videoclip.

Funny thing was, he said that the girl was in the video clip for sex appeal even though when they got her in, she couldn't bboy. I found that shit funny cause as far as i can see, she's DOG UGLY :P

I remember when that song and Lisa Lisa's "I wonder If I Take You Home" was on every tape and record marketed for breakdancers lol. No question Rocksteady are worthy of nothing less that idolworship, but i also remember fast-forwarding past that track every time it came on lol
