[Epidemic]

Alright so, about a half a year ago I heard about this one event through youtube called Marian Days or Battle of Carthage. The video was hella dope and set off an awesome vibe, so I wanted more info about it. I started messaging Kevetic or bboyimage from bboy.org, asking how I should get there and what not, then all of sudden he offered me a place to stay at his place. I was like wow, thats dope. So I got a plane ticket and everything, I don't know if he took me serious or what but I was set to arrive in Kansas City in the first week of August.

Now flying is pretty scary to me, since this is actually the first time I flew by myself and I'm going farther than any other place I've been too without an adult. Yeah, I was nervous, along with the odd passengers that were seated next to me, but that's another story.

I arrive in KC, from what I saw it was pretty much like Atlanta, except more flat, less trees, less buildings, much smaller airport, and the roads were confusing.
Kevetic came and got me and we chilled at his house, session for a little bit, but he was mainly too busy dealing with his girl problems or whatever, not my say in it. Kevetic was the only boogie munstar member I met, because the rest of them was at Carthage already.

We waiting for his parents to arrive and oh man his parents are a trip!!!!!!! HAHA but thats whole another story too, lol. So that night we pack up and got ready to drive to Carthage, which is a small city. When we got there it was like 3 in the morning, and it took us 2 hours to set up tent, yeah had some problems.

Anyways about the place, this is where most ppl misinterpret the event and thinking its a jam. The place is really called marian days, its a catholic religious get together where they celebrate the Virgin Mary. There are thousands of vietnamese folks about from all over the United States, and it just so happens that a good plenty likes to bboy.

So basicially during the day, you chill, walk around, goof off, talk to girls, go to walmart, EATTTTT PHOOO!!!!! and drink boba tea and practice in the auditorium.
Then at night, we bring in the stereo system, ipod and the vinl or cardboard and bboy till we fall. Take public showers and sleep in a tent or pull all nighters.

It is pretty much one HUGE cypher, where a large group of bboys gather together and call each other out and what not.
Its hella raw for three reasons
1. no prize money
2. no competitive vibe (well most of the time)
3. dance for fun

It was like that for the rest of the week! I chilled with mainly the Boogie Munstars and some Florida kats, the texas bboys were dope but I wasn't as close to them as I was with the others.
So many things happened over the week, inspirational moments, watching a crew fall apart but then come closer together because of Carthage, or maybe it was cause I was there haha. Yeah there was crew drama, but thats not my job to talk about it.

BMC is a dope crew, and they're a trip!! I'm glad I got to hang out with them!

From what I saw, dancing with my generation of bboys, I tell you this, the future is not going to dissappoint!!!
There kats who were 16, 17, 18 my age and dancing for as long as I have and rocking soooooo much harder! Back at my scene I was told I was real dope for my age and how long I've been dancing and after today my answer to that is...dude go to carthage! The teenagers there are MAD talented

I don't know whose gonna read all this but that was a great week! Before I left i was sessioning with the most of the BMC! I was in almost all the BMC meetings lol! I mind as well be put down!!! haha
Great place to network as well, now I got places to stay in MO and FL!!!!

but it wasn't all fun! we had some real negative moments like, kevetic farted on me like 5 times while I was sleeping, lwood and kevetic played a prank on me about going to airport and sleepign in the terminal. Got pissed on by tung, getting splinters in the auditorium, hollering at a girl who looks like they're 18, but really 14... rain, drunk ppl, fat girls, cold chicken, alot of asians. yepp...

but had a hella dope time, hope more show up to next years

hope bmc comes down to Atlanta sometime and wreck shop, same with grounded for life!

carthage is a two and a half hour drive away from me and by reading your post and all the fun it sounds like...id definitely drive the 2 and a half hours.
