Question bout the Threads in Moves Section -

I was wondering how come many of the very good guides sometimes placed out there for flips like zero's guides, freezes like bboy excid's guides, and probably many of the other ones are not stickied. I just haven't seen many threads being stickied... or am I missing them? o.o

There are no mods there. The only one I've witnessed is Sander, but he only comes on every now and then.

I check it out all the time. I never noticed those threads, give me the links to them and I will see if they are sticky worthy. If anyone wants a guide stickied they can just send me a pm.

Thanks for the heads up K3v1n. I stickied most of them. The thing is tho, I don't really want every single guide that people write to stickied. For one, half the stickied guides in the freeze section are all airchairs, I only sticked Cancer's one because it was particularly good. If I unstickied all those other airchair guides, I would be over riding other mods. Besides, now that theres all these subforums, having your guide stickied isn't that big of a deal because they will probably stay on the front page anyway, especially if other members like it.

Arrrrrr! one of the first things I want to do as a mod (and one of the first things I've wanted to see happen for a long time) is run a member opinion on how useful the guides are (specific to footwork forum, cuz well... thats pretty much all I'm good for lol..), then at the end of the day run the results by other mods and shift stickies cuz in my opinion... some of the crap thats been up there since 02-04 is garbage (text only tutorials... we're in the video era these shouldn't even exist anymore..), and a lot of sick stuff doesn't get noticed... even if its popular it won't stay front page for to long.
On the flip side every forum having as many stickies as beginner guides is definitely not great, no ones going to read them if there are 500 of them cluttering up a forum. |

Im not saying that people should spoonfeed noobs but some of the guides just arent very helpful I mean theres guides for a 3,6 and 12 step but thats about it everyone preaches on how important foundation is but how is a noob going to learn 4,5,7,8 step without a guide. I know youtube buts lets ignore that for a minute because mostly all the guides besides the gamblers are shit (no offense if anyone has one lol) |
