well it'll be cheap as fuck once it's finally here.
and seriously, why the fuck didn't we get it first? Crazy Legs is like the lead guy. Not to mention the fact that Hip Hop started here. Damn, why the fuck did they get a German developer? |
|
I'll just start off by saying the majority rappers today have no intention of supporting hip-hop culture. If you don't support the culture, then you aren't really hip-hop.

It's weird too. The english is slightly off and some of the moves have different names. Even the names of tracks are kinda wrong haha. |

Honestly, it's not so great it's, still just a game. Basically, there is a button for toprock, footowork, power, and freezes. As you progress through the game, you learn new moves by beating people in battles, which you then practice at your warehouse/practice area. Each move you have is ranked one a star basis, after you practice, the amount of stars go up, with 5 being highest. Basically that raises the amount of time you can do a specific move for (i.e. the amount of rotations you can do with flares). To do a move besides the 4 basic (toprock, sixstep, windmill, baby freeze), you press a directional button or multiple directional buttons and hit the correct face button. Also, if you've seen a video of the gameplay, you'll see a ring of blips around the character. This is your "beat timer". (not the real name) Hit L or R on these beats to be on beat. It doesn't really influence your moves though, maybe when you transition. THe game is pretty accurate, and has a huge range of moves, some you may not have ever heard of. Plus there's a large amount of real bboys you can play as, besides the character you create yourself in campaign. You can change your outfit too, clothes, shoes hair hats, you name it. But you don't get too many choices until you get sponsered, then you can where your sponser's brand threads. I haven't finished the game, so there may be some more things i haven't stumbled across. The battle scoring system is kinda hard to explain, but effectively it's like a tug-of-war for the bronze, silver, and gold medals you can get for flow, rythym, foundation, etc. You get at the most 60 seconds to drop your set. One annoying thing about this game is the loading times, before the battles types you have a long time of just standing there, facing your opponent doing a stupid step thing. When I first played it I thought the game had broke lol. I had it for PSP, so there might be some cool other features for ps2, (or ps3, if they have it). But as a game, it can still get boring. And think about it, usually when you're playing the game, you could be bboying in real life. Plus if you're going to play games, i think it'd be more fun to play something more action(like GTA). And your not going too get the same feeling when you press left-left-left-circle to do an airflare. |
