RICE
Rest Ice Compression (knee brace) Elevation wait two weeks, if it still hurts see a doctor, an orthopedic doctor if you can. Don't fuck around with your knees. |

i got two fucked up knees, one has a full torn miniscus and has some sort of shit floatin around, pops out every now and then. it's been that way for two years, eventually i'm gonna have to give in and have surgery, but i always have to wear a knee brace.
and last week i did somethin to my other knee, i'm afraid it might be another tear because of how i landed, i can walk jus fine but it hurts and bothers me. anyway the point is, i talked to a doctor, who is a friend of the family, and he told me to take it easy on it for two weeks and ice it and take ibuprofin. he said if it still hurts after two weeks then make an appointment to see a doctor. |

I'm just getting off of a six month recovery from surgery for a torn meniscus and torn ACL...60% of my cartilage had to be removed during the surgery. Starting over is a bitch, like I said...do NOT fuck around with your knees.

Yeah just like everyone else said eat a lot of rice... oh wait.
Seriously though, like Alpha said don't fuck around with your body unnecessarily. It can lead to disastrous consequences. |

i wouldn't ice it, it reduces the pain but slows down the healing too

Don't use a heating pad until any swelling is under control. After that it's ok to use heat to increase blood flow to the area which can help heal ligaments.
But if it's in your knee...it won't really do any good. Blood doesn't flow through your knees like it does in other joints so it won't aid in healing the ligaments. If it's a ligament or meniscus tear. |
