Sup peeps...new to the org but not at all to bboying...
In my opinion...bboying is an escape. not a crutch, but a means to get away. when i dance, i can go anywhere without ever actually going any place. while rocking to the music, i feel as though i am in outer space and nothing can touch me. although this may sound lame to some, it is a very important aspect of bboying in my life. why does anyone dance. most people start because they think it's the norm or their friends are into it. doesn't really matter how the journey starts though. the only important thing is the journey, not the destination. we practice continuously, failing over and over only to create new move or develop a new style. majority of it is accidental, mistakes will be made. but that is the fun of it...admittidly, who would want to do it if it came naturally and no practice was necessary.

yeah man,i totally agree. to me bboying is a way of expressing yourself. when i dance, people can tell what im feeling on the inside, even if i dont normally show it. its also a way for me to release anger, when things arent going me way. dancers high is one of the best feeling in the world

oh no doubt homie...it's not just bboying though...it's the four aspects of hip-hop (not rap) bboying, mc-ing, dj-ing, and graf-writing...it is def a way of life in every aspect of my own, and it is a culture...not dying out of course, but re-born. what people need to realize though is the most important aspect of anything is why do you do it...i was merely explaining how i feel when i dance...although no words could ever really express how b-boying actually makes me feel. and it is up to us to keep this lifestyle alive, and the blood of hip-hop flowing. we are the last of an un-dying breed.

I dance because I don't know what else I can do, it's like I've been born to be a dancer. If I randomly drag out a photo album now, 1/3 of them would be of me dancing as a little kid at some party.
When I hear a dope tune, I start 2 stepping to the beat, even when I did say I don't feel like dancing, my body tells differently. Eventually I'll get dragged away and start rocking all out. It's like I've grown wings, and flew away.

Ugh, there's just so many ways to describe the feeling you get when you're dancing. You can't just stop at 1, that's why I'm shutting up now :P
