Angry Ever feel like the whole world's against you? - 05-12-2008, 11:42 AM

Yep... Time for a bitch...

Ever had the feeling? You're really into something and everything keeps fucking with you?

Its happening to me with bboying. I cant break at school AT ALL because 1st we broke(?) in the hall until the angry eagle of a music teacher kicked us out because its "unsafe." I THINK WOOD IS SAFER THAN FUCKING CONCRETE.. I GOT THE SCAR TO PROVE IT!! Second, my entire house is full of shit, I have nowhere to practice, 'cept for maybe the dirt or the gravel driveway. Oh yeah, 3rd, according to my friend, they announced on assembly that no breaking is allowed anywhere due to "personal risk" issues.. Also, my mum wont let me go to training or the local meetups anymore because breaking and brisbane are both far too dangerous... The truth is, a box of jellyfish (only really dangerous if UR A COMPLETE WANKER) holds more danger. I got no money to buy a mat or set up a floor. Where I used to break almost 3 hours a night, i got 5 hours of homework and CHUCK TAYLOR CANT MAKE SHOES FOR SHIT!!!

Ever felt that?

Yeah, you have a rough time, but eventually, it gets better, things change.
That is... if you stick through it...

i do. everytime i feel like im advancing in breaking one of 2 things happens.

ONE AND THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER: i injured something. 2 months bboyng and already a pulled muscle and 2 sprained wrists. im currently just recovering from a sprained wrist now and should be back on the floor in a about 4 days.

TWO: i hit a roadblock. something like this happens. i feel like im doing good then one day i get on the floor and give myself some time for practicing basics. and after thaty im like : what the fuck was i going to do today. but i shouldnt have too big of a problem with this because now im working on mills and inventing my own footwork techs. so that should give me a good 2 months before roadblocks. bc with the sprained wrist all that went through my mind was "would it look cool if i did this then put my foot here then switched arms" or "what if i did this".

I screwed my wrist up so bad the doctor gave me 3 choses: 1. Quit break 2. Surgery & lot's of rest 3. Get hooked on painkillers... I guess the third one won..

The road block thingie. Well, that's normal.. Just relax, don't stress & most important don't force things. You'll end up just 'worsening' things

i get shit for breaking in school/wal-mart (lol)/and other places around my school
teachers, hall monitors, random old people, employees
they tell me to stop because its unsafe for others around us
well wtf, isnt that why im breaking in a place where no one at all is around

OMFG!!!! This is EXACTLY how i felt all day long today! I can't break in the ONLY F***ing place in my house with head-to-toe mirrors cuz 99.9% of my house is carpet and F***s up EVERYTHING especially when i practice footwork (no wonder I ain't progressing).
I can't go to a dance school cuz i'm not rich where they have mirrors and music
I can't even list off everything........ it'll be too long. AND people'll think i whine too much when they don't see what my situation is......
if i could: I'd go back to korea and attend gambler's bboy school.......

the fact that you're hitting this point in ur breaking is.. ironically.. a great thing. see all those people who put in their two cents about hitting the same low as you did? but they got over it. it was just a phase. i obviously don't know you at all..but i think that you really enjoy bboying and just letting urself go with dance. i KNOW that there has GOT to be SOMETHING about bboyin that you can't let go of. a lot of things may seem to be going bad rite now but u gotta keep tellin urself why you do this. if you'rejust doing this to look cool then hell u gotta stop before u just go into fuckin depression or something. but if ur doing this because u love it, love the rush you get after a set, love the adrenaline before a battle, and love the fellowship you gain from your other bboy or bgirl friends.. then keep at it. ignore everything else. in everything, u gotta separate what will keep you going, and what pulls you down. and whatever pulls you down, you gotta let go of it .. but never for get about it cuz then you'll learn. to me, you got mad balls for even starting to break. and remember.. frekain hong 10.. the fuckin LEGEND of bboying.. was a beginner once. u don't think he's wanted to quit before?

gluck man.. God bless.

Lay some lino or cardboard on something and you can break on nearly any flat ground.

But I feel yea. I want to get a room with mirrors, lock myself in it and break without any cares.

Maybe you've a train station in your city? You can train there. Maybe you'd see other bboys so you can train together. Just try to break everywhere and get several places to train.

lol yeah when we session at our school, we have rotating shifts to watch for teachers...we also have lists of teachers who r chill wit it and ones who aint.

halos r like..the other slightly dangerous move. other than that, it's all bruises and sprains.

i dont believe in 'bad days'. i believe in shtty things happening to you on a particular day that you're not used to. and if the worlds got a problem with you, tell them to suck it. honestly, you shouldn't be able 2 care less...
