First off lemme say I'm still a beginner at bboying so I only have a few moves in my arsenal- 6 step, 3 step, 7 step, baby freeze, turtle, cicis, sweeps, indians etc... so beginner stuff. Well I'm at this club with my friends and we're having a good time, and my buddy wants me to do some moves. So I go out, do my thing having fun, and this guy steps to me and says "hey wanna battle I'm a a beginner." So I figure cool that would be a good way to practice right? Turns out the kat lied, and he's really good. So I got smoked.

What's up with that? Would you bs a beginner just to show em up in front of a bunch of people? I don't get that, seems whack to me.

it happens...and just cuz u got smoked doesn't mean hes not a newbie either...he cudda jus learned a lil faster than most beginners. you never know...

he was either being modest or he really is a beginner but you're just wacker than him. if he's battling in a club, he's probably not too good on the scene.

thats a good point, cuz wen i went to this club in orlando, i encountered 2 types of dancers:
1. Chris Brown wannabes
2. Step Up 2 Rejects

some cats learn things just to show off and act dumb, and those ppl can get shanked in the patella.

How good was he? I won't claim to be past beginner level until I start holding my own at jams. Turn this experience into something positive and motivational, everyone gets smoked one time or another. At my first jam, I got roasted at prelims. I didn't whine about it, I looked at the video and found everything I was doing wrong. It's only 5 months later, and I feel like a completely different bboy. Battle anyone, and go for the win.

well i battled some guys(they were seniors and i was a junior) at my school and i wasnt very good then so i think i lost. then after i got loads better, and was pretty sure they didnt, i plotted to call them back to battle. then i realized that it would reflect poorly on me to have called them back just to dominate them. so at the very least the bboy community looks down on that "beginner"

hahah battling in clubs is fucking funny. its so easy to draw cheers. well its bein quite a bitch but its fun to show some of those "showoffs" up you know.. and best of all you don't even have to do much.. just pull a damn windmill or some shit
