Darkness is and will remain one of the most inspirational Korean dancers. Not only because of the people he gets to dance (new people look up to him more often than experienced bboys/bgirls do), but also because of everything he says.

I still look up to him, for he is an inspirational and humble person.

thanks R.F, i appreciate your good wishes. i understand, i probably wouldn't say all of that to your face but that's what's great about the forums: i can bring my thoughts to the table regardless of how fresh out of the box i might be. take it all for what it's worth to you...

word DnA, but man i am going to miss his buff self leading the crew... it's sad thinking he's probably not gonna go to IBE or big comps for a while maybe. one of the best parts of Gamblerz 2007 trailer was when the doors slide open and everyone was walking in with Darkness leading the way. fearsome!

If I'm not mistaking, Darkness has been nominated for the Asian (Japan + Korea) team at IBE, so he'll probably get contacted by the Dutchbboy org.

And that scene with Bust Gambler or something you just mentioned was the fookin awesomezor itself.

I respect your opinions, I respect your contribution to this dance, to this culture, and hope you do it for as long as life itself permits you.

However, I don't need an explanation from you on what battling is. On what this dance is, from someone who has not been dancing half the years I have. Nothing you said invalidates MY FEELINGS, MY EXPERIENCES, AN MY KNOWLEDGE from the countless years, jams, battles, trips, cyphers, competitions.

Basically from what I've seen is that when you first start out bboying, you learn a lot of those lessons that King was talking about. But after a couple of years you can't learn as much from battling, and you learn more from yourself by being more innovative, and while you still learn from other people, the drive to battle is far less than it was when you started. From personal experience i can tell you that the most experienced people in my crew don't really go to the one-on-one battle jams with the rest of us younger guys simply because they are tired of that scene and would rather just session and have fun. I think (more of an assumption really because i have only been breakin' about a year) that after a certain point, all one-on-one battles look basically the same, and from what one of the older guys in my crew said was that the whole jam is very formulaic, and while it can still be fun, it becomes a deju vu situation. I'm not speaking out of experience, and i'm def not speaking for all Bboys, but i can def see that happening a lot to older guys. There are always those people that have to compete constantly, and it probably doesnt get boring for them, but most bboys would probably agree that friendly battles for fun are usually more enjoyable than a heated battle with a stranger in front of a bunch of other strangers.

=)

Yes, Yes. SLF!!!! Very nice!! You understand.

Trust me when I make the move, I'll be hitting every jam I can, probably will battle. Its just, Its going to be different for me this go around. Might just stay in the cyphers, but I will be getting seen a lot more and be dancing with more BBOYS on a normal basis, and that makes me happy. Because I believe I have a lot that has yet to be seen, I feel like I'm just now getting comfortable in my all around style, power, footwork, uprock and expressiveness and I love dancing in crowds and with other dancers. Battling just is not all that to me anymore, maybe this move will spark something in me though.
