Is a laid back attitude a weakness in battlin?

Just askin cause I'm personally not a really aggressive guy. I'm more of a laid back, let my moves do the talkin type guy. I can't do the whole throwing hands in the face and smack talkin persona cause that isn't me basically. So because I'm more the laid back type, would that count as a weakness in battlin?

ummm thats a good question. well, i say that the way u dance is how u express urself and it shows ur personality. but if ur moves r good then i dont see why it would be a weakness. Bboying is all about expressing urself. and if calm and laid back is how u are, then calm and laid back is how u r. dont let people tell u different. Pe@ce

I think its better imo. Like you have someone who is all in your face talking trash, making diss gestures etc. Just smile, step back, and out dance them. More of a statement to me.

"Aggressive" doesn't necessarily mean talking shit and getting in your opponents face. It can, but it also simply means going after your opponent with your runs and setting the tone of the battle. Watch Roxrite for a good example of what I mean.

It's good to be somewhat aggressive when you dance, but not to the point where you look lazy and unfocused. When you go out, go out hard.

Edit: Also, don't get crazy with throwing dicks at people. I see so many people that break, especially in the LA area, that go nuts with it. Save that stuff for heated battles.

Don't be aggressive, be energetic. Get in there, enjoy it, don't be afraid to get into the battle, just have fun, smile and match your opponent, in fact outmatch him.

hahaha nah it's not a weakness. battles aren't a personality contest man. all you gotta do is just show and express through your moves and your body.

I'm a really goofy guy, and i like to clown so I tend to be goofy in a battle. I'm really animated when i bboy. I smile sometimes too.

I mean just look at b-boy noodle from Gamblers, that fool always smiling and shit, i love that guy.
and look at born, he's not a very aggressive guy either, he's really funky.

it's not a weakness. but you'll DEFINITELY appear weak if you're getting smoked and the other dude's clowning on you and burning you left and right.. and you all laid back and aint doin shit.

if you're gonna be laid back and relaxed and shit, at least be able to hold your own, especially when the time comes for it. and if you're doing well and pulled off some good runs, then let the other cat, who is being all loud and shit, play himself.

there's an appropriate strategy for any situation.

not much coming from a noob like me but my attitude is like always laid back (Even in krump battles, which are normally very agressive) and i never thought of it as a weakness

as long as your having fun and know what your doing i dont see any weakness.
For real dude when i battle people im always smiling and giving them props for their sets.
But if your not having fun then your not gonna look too good
Physicx vs Darkness @ Match One Skill is a good example
Darkness was laid back and Physicx owned him. I was like come on Darkness look more into it!!!
