OUI! French x]] lol is handglide a powermove? I think powerheads should do all aspects of bboying or else I wouldn't consider them bboying more like powermoving?

well if "stylists," which are just ppl who do footwork (as defined by bboy.org members) dont do powermoves, then wouldnt you wouldnt consider them bboying either. theyd be footworking. only.

but then, giovanni, youre defining a bboy by his arsenal now. youre saying if a person cant do this move or that move, then that person is not a bboy.

Well if you just drop to powermoves without top-rock i would consider that a powerhead... but if you acctually top-rock i wouldn't say so unless your top-rock sucks and you got good power.
and for style heads if they top-rock nice and smooth and hit the beats and do the right technique but dont do power then i would call him a style head

You can see if someone is pure powermoves or a relatively balanced bboy. I've seen some cats go with a shoulder suicide like Darkness' and keep flaring and airflaring 'till it's over, the crowd's on their side but the bboys know that you can't win shit just with that, and that it gets boring after a while :P, and we all know that toprocking is a lot of fun so why fight it?? Toprock a little before powermoving like a crazy bitch. It's fun, it looks good (well... that's up to you) and it's a great thing to do.

I consider you a bboy if you feel your shit while you're doing it. I think that being a bboy or not depends on each one of us. I mean, bboying is like "Your style is unique. It doesn't matter how you dance or what you do, we all are bboying" as a guy once told me, and that kinda affects the whole bboying concept, because there are no stated concepts to be considered a bboy. It would be easier if you just shut the fuck up and do your shit... And don't fight to be called "bboy". It ain't worth shit.

Of something i'm sure. You won't get anywhere just with powermoves. Neither with toprock, footwork or freezes only, as sick as they could be, it gets boring and monotonous sooner or later. Knowledge, creativity, variability, style, hard work and respect, all those words are shit that should be considered realy good.

Knowledge is power, 'cuz you gotta know shit to do shit, and you gotta know yourself to be able to be a bboy. Creativity is important to be really good, your own personal shit is what makes you real particular or even unique among others. Variability is important to keep the dance fun and enternatining, you can't just do the same shit over and o ver, even you will get bored real quick. Style is something you gotta find in yourself, no one should tell you what your style is, you have to BE your own style, that's truly important. Hard Work is the fuel to be a bboy, to me, if you don't work on your shit you ain't shit. And ALWAYS, i mean ALWAYS RESPECT your surrounding. Even if they suck, give them your respect if they do the same, and keep your shit clean.

I don't know if that last part was neccesary but i wanted to write that.

Love ya'll! Peace!

now i could be wrong about this . . . but when bboying first started there was hardly any power moves if any at all. there was barely footwork.

I consider if one knows something, but does not do them then they aren't putting bboying to it's full dance. You are dancing it. If you are doing power moves or footwork only by choice and you know more then I'd consider that powerhead or footwork. Like if that's all you do. If you don't know the move and you are dancing everything else you know then I consider you are bboying, but if you are doing only one part of the dance by choice almost only and almost every time you do then I don't consider it bboying exactly.

it doesnt matter whether or not something was there from square one as long as it exists NOW. it's called evolution and development.......
when earth first started there were no humans. hence, humans dont count as part of the earth now?

so if youre only footworking, youre not bboying.

if powerhead starts his set atleast with basic toprock and then goes to powermoves - hes dancing , but if he starts set with airflare or 1990's without any sign of toprock - he isnt realy bboying.....
P.S i am stylehead , usualy only powermoves i use in my sets are : handglide , crocket , jackhammer cause from them i can go to footwork or atleast chair freeze easily , but thats just my opinion MAYBE I AM WRONG!!

Some born great , some will be great , some are great and some never gonna be great
