so this kid challenged me to a battle . well it really wasnt a battle it was more like a dance cypher. so its my turn in the cypher and i do some really intricate footwork and finish off with a baby freeze. then next thing u no sum guy comes out and does 1 flare. just 1. and every1 watching goes fukin nuts. the next day at school everyone is sayiong i got my ass whopped. why does the general public love powermoves. and not the tru sprit of a bboy which is stlye not just a powermove

because they dont understand that its a dance and dont know how to properly view and inpect the art, to them its like "powermoves are the hardest move ever and footwork is so easy to do" - nor do they understand creativity and musicality
More to it, but I dont feel the need to go further, that the main point and I dont see why you have to worry

if it was like 5 airflares then that would kind of be different but 1 flare is weak

man just dance, just outdance him right after. no matter what, ppl always appreciate a sik dancer, u dun need power moves all the time, or even most of the time (unless ur battling at a serious bboy thing u know?), just do ur thing, n work on more intricate freezes, n then u got it! shit u prolly already got it n dun even know it!

Dude I can do one flair, it's not hard to only do one. Your not supposed to jump in to them but hell even if you did you could still get one. Flairs are hard, a flair is not. I do properly kick into it but only do it in foot work, and I've only been breaking for about a month.
That guy sucks, too bad the crowd doesn't get it, cause thats some real misguided respect.
Solution, learn a single flair or better yet air flair and rematch is ass, then you got the foot work as an advantage so you'll school him.

stop complaining about your situation
and if you ended your set with a BABY FREEZE, at that level, i highly doubt your footwork was intricate at all.
plus it's common knowledge that the crowd likes power more. why do you even bother asking "WHY DO PEOPLE THINK LIKE THAT?" it's cooler and more impossible-looking, duh.
so if you got owned by 1 flare, you better step your game up and get continuous windmills or flares. stop whining about it and go practice.

yeah dude all i am is creativity in footwork but if one guy busts out and does one flare and nothing else the crowd goes wild
