Thought I would join as have been lurking for a couple of dayz.
I started breakin' at the age of 10 in '82, went to Fresh '86, went to Madisons in Bournemouth on Sat afternoons religiously in mid 80's. Used to collect Mike Allen (?) tapes from capitol radio...could on.ly record when weather was good; remember hearing these fat beats through the hiss !! Too far away to get a clear signal.
Had over 200 vinyl - lots of rare stuff - sold all for pitance about 15 years ago - GUTTED ! :-(
Now at 35, thought I would check out the scene, after stopping in about 89 (long story) ...
It's good to see the strength of the scene !!
Tried to throw some windmalls for a laugh - MAN !! I am SOOOO weak...I think I am about 3 stone heavier than when I last did any breakin ;-)
Im on a mission to get back in condition - it's just like the old dayz - i'm covered in bruizes again. Girlfriend thinks im mad - havin a mid-life crisis - maybe she's right !
I'll continue bboying when I am 30s. I wanna show my style off in those dance clubs heheh.
My sophmore english teacher was a bboy. He's 34-36 years old. When he told his history over the past years that he did, he said was a wrestler and a "breakdancer". When I told him I could break also, he and I did a battle at the end of the year. He won the battle hahaha.
uhn! thats sick
one of the math teachers is probably in his late 20 and kinda breaks
he's got clean mills and a couple of flares and hella sick head guides, spins, etc
thats cool though i gotta admit i hope you reach your goal
