actually yes it can.

most likely not anything longterm,

i had a job performing. did two showa a day, and got paid $450 weekly. which wasa actually pretty low for where we performed at.

lived jus fine off that for a year. but with jobs like that there's always time frames and contracts, so you jus gotta keep pushin to find the next gig, but if you get out there good enough you can find enough shows to do

I don't think there are many jobs that require breakdance. I guess you mean purely breakdance in a big veriety as performer, teacher and so on.

I know breakdance can be used as a social worker (what I am studying for). If you are a social worker full time/ part time and do performances, workshops, battles or whatever on the side it's not going to be so hard.

But the main thing is you have to have a education for this kind of breakdance living. I have to say I live in the netherlands and also near germany at this place it's pretty possible.

So yeah breakdance can be a living, but only whith a education (Social Work) at least in mine opinion.

haha I guess it is confusing what I saidXD

I hear some say, bboying can be done for a living in a short time and others say it can't be a full time job.

Then I am responding to JasonTee's first post and he asks 'can breakdance be a job?'
In respons to that I try to say: Making a living of only breakdance is pretty hard and maybe impossible. One of the possible ways to make breakdance a full time living is to become a social worker and use breakdance. This way you can bboy while working as a social worker and next to being a social worker, you can battle, be a teacher and so on.

Then I wanted to mention that I live in the Netherlands, in a town near germany.
Where I live the way of being a full time bboy can be acomplished at the place where I live and I am not shure if the place where JasonTee lives has enough demand his job.

hope this is clearer :P

you can try busking?
like go around to diff places everyday via train
and bboy at the stations etc.
i guess that can be alright for a while

become a bboy teacher?
have your own studio?
bleah, but i think ppl that have their own studio already have a lot of $$$ or have another job.

Just another one of those wannabe bboys...

Here is what Darkness said in an interview to give you an idea:

How is it like to make a living off from breaking? You guys are in several commercials on TV and you’ve tons of shows in Korea. What is your life looking like besides the competitions?

It's ok. We survive with breaking. We put all our best efforts into it. We practice 5 hours a day just to survive by breaking. And we practice 300 days out of 365 days a year. We can't practice during the 65 days because of vacation and international schedule. We're somehow surviving through bboying school and the shopping mall. but the future isn't guranteed at all. We just wanna engage in the bboying business for the future to create strong footstool for future bboys in Korea and we are currently breaking our asses off and trying to get into bboying related businesses.

Gambler crew has their own Bboy school, their own event called “Match one’s skills” as well as their own Shopping Mall in Korea. So you’re already on a very high business level. How did you achieved all that? Can you tell us a little bit about your school, your event and some of the projects you’re involved in?

To be honest, it's only possible for most of the Bboys when you have a part time job or another job besides bbyoing. Most of Bboys are living that way.
But my opinion is a different one. I am a Bboy and when I gonna have to earn money to survive, i'd rather get a job where i can do both, dance and survive. To do that, I had to convince the whole crew members and risk everything. The results are the ones you call, Gamblerz bboying school, Gamblerz shopping mall, and Match One's Skill. These are not completed yet but they can give us some idea what direction the Gamblerz need to go at least.

"Of course we gotta pay rent, so money connects, but uhh
I'd rather be broke and have a whole lot of respect
It's the principal of it, I get a rush when I bust

It would generally be hard to earn steady income for Bboying I would imagine. You could probably entertain or teach, but that's all the springs up in my mind
