What are your opinions? Honestly. My girl and I end up arguing over this. She goes "you don't think that's weird that you go to meet up with someone you don't know AT ALL?" she thinks it's weird and that i must be desperate if i'm gonna try and meet up with some stranger just to bboy, and that i could really get hurt. wtf? I don't understand her problem.
that's beside the point, i'm not trying to bring my personal matters in this. but what do you guys think of this? It's normal, right?

some explanations:
it's the underground nature of bboying. you meet heads who are devoted to the true dance of hip hop and you learn from them. it is the only real way of learning, from the bboys themselves.
it's the artistic nature of bboying. you aren't paying for dance lessons or going to sessions without the hope of improving. you are looking for a way to take part in an art form that can enable you to express yourself.
it's the diverse nature of bboying. there are so many people outside your little world that come together for one thing.
i can see how your girlfriend is uncomfortable when she probably knows none of this. you should explain to her clearly that bboying isn't about mischief.
that all being said, be careful about who you session with and where though...

^Yeah thanks for that, well me and my girl ended up getting into an even bigger fight because of this ending up with her breaking up with me.. and i'm tryna to convince her to come back.. but that's something else.
I've tried explaining to her, but she insists that "it's common sense not to meet with strangers!" and i told her that it's part of the culture but she just won't take any explanation.. period. I've told her that she just needs to understand that that's what it's about, but she can't bring herself to accept it because she's so stuck on it being stupid and common sense not to mess with strangers period. Saying that it makes sense that she doesn't want me doing it because i'd be alone and who knows what may happen to me =/
it's almost common sense tho that you would meet up with other bboys in the community in your area, is it not? That's a main aspect of being in a culture, community, to meet up with people that do with you do and share it with them. And when i told her that it's what a bboy does, is go and meet and session with other bboys, she said that it hurt when i said it. =/
