see what you do... is you bring a bunch of friends to support you... (that way u wont wanna mess up in front of them) then you tell them to go UH on beat and clap and stuff... and be all obnoxious ... i seen a bunch of crews do this jsut for kicks

then when it comes to ur opponent going up... u tell them to go UH off beat so they screw up alot =D

getting hype is just feeling that energy, getting hyper on it. It's not really something to explain but you just go crazy really, like when u see someone come out with their toprocks blasting and they jump and flip fast and all that, that's hype. You wanna get hyped cuz u usually do better, and it feels good :P

Nervousity is hype in a way. And yeah what you said about "how will people perform differently in a battle" (too lazy to quote -_-) its to see how well you do under pressure, hiphop is asking you a question and that question is what are you going to do ?

It takes an athlete to breakdance, but an artist to bboy.

Put it in your signature if your with me.

lol one time I got so hyped I tried to do Hong10's elbow pop to spinning airchair and I almost broke my shoulder. Good thing it wasn't in a battle!
So yeah, just remember to do moves that you've done once before. xD

u need a certain level of confidence first to get hype. you can't be hype in ur sets if u don't even believe in your abilities or sets. whatever you do, do it clean and you'll get respect. whether it's two six-steps then a freeze...or continuous elbow airflares to 2000s.

I bboy to discover and extend my physical abilities, to better understand the correlation of music and dance, and to further personalize the culture of bboying. What do you bboy for?

Hip Hop is a revolution of artistic standards. A revolution of music from beat-making, dance from bboying, poetic knowledge from freestyling, drawn/sprayed art from graffiti. Who're still aiming to revolutionize? Or are these simply standards of a newer genre nowadays?
