Hip Hop Appreciation Thread -
11-29-2006, 09:25 AM
Too many threads are doing the rounds with little positivity in between them, so i figured i might make this thread, so those that are feeling the positivity can share their appreciation of this culture and all that it's given to them.
Here's a few excerpts from my latest myspace blog: Hip Hop has given me so much in my life, without i can't even begin to imagine where i would be. I'd still be a huge nerd, i'd have no self-confidence, i wouldn't know how to dance most importantly (bboy for life!) and i sure as hell wouldn't have some great friends and better memories. Hip Hop has given me my own style to create, it's allowed me to identify with marginalised people's who are alot like me, it's showed me positive music and triumphant people's in downtrodden situations, it's given me something really important too, the ability to tap my own rhythm intrinsic. I can't even begin to start repaying that back, but hip hop is not just something that was there and will always be there, those who pay homage to and participate in it, create and inform hip hop for the modern day, we pay our dues, we realise that we are forever students and we always remember to spread around positive vibes, hip hop after all is a beacon for spreading peace and unity, despite what some might think. I guess all in all, i just really wanted to let people know that the things you're a part of, create the person you are, for me, i'm glad that i got involved in hip hop and bboying, because it has given me so much, which i'm now trying to repay even as i learn more. "I live and die for hip hop, this is hip hop for today, i give props to hip hop so hip hop hooray, ho, hey, ho" Never forget to do significant things in your life, the time for procrastination is old age when you can do little else, young people get so many opportunities and pass them up, don't be afraid to throw yourself in the deep end and find out that what's most scary is you might just float. Peace |

Without hiphop... without hiphop I'd still be suffering from heavy introversion (hence bboy 'intro')
Hip hop reaaaaaaaally changed my life so damn badly, it's the most precious thing on earth lol Lol I used 'hiphop' and 'hip hop' .. I'm so dope ^ those words are dope... like the word 'dope' .. lol, I'm dope, or something |

Hip-Hop filled a great void in my life. Taught me how to express myself(by music or dance) and i now live by some priinciples i learned from real tuga(portuguese) mc's.
