Hey man,
Yeah get down ur toprock first, get your style down then slowly incorporate windmills and more powerful crap later. Breaking takes muscles. For me it took forever to learn to toprock, just practice practice practice don't ever get up. Eventually your brain will get it and you'll get this sick flow and just feel it without even thinking. Also, don't ever get down on yourself. Stay positive. Sometimes it helps me to narrate myself. What I mean is I'm like "oh man you're so sick, oh that was fat oh dog" it sounds gay, it is, but it keeps me from thinking " oh I suck, i'm never gonna get this" even if i try to windmill and totally bomb it i get up and im like "yea right on!". Never settle for less though. Hope this kind of helps. Good luck man, staplez |

ok, well i can do that toprock thing already and found it EASY, it took me like an hour to learn, well an hour for the "toprock" in mike garcias learn to breakdance video anyway.. now i wanted to know what else to do next, like there must be a technique with a name to how to breakdown for the six step, swipe, all that.. btw is six step and swipe n that dwhat you guys mean by dancing and footwork(im sitting here thinking footwork is glides and moonwalk and all that, which i can do quite good)? also, its taken me about 2 days of on/off practice at work to be able to handstand for about 2secs.. is this good progress(i was scared to handstand 2 days ago)? i can get down the mill to the point of re-stabbing but cant kick up high enough for it after about 2hrs practice.. and i constantly walk around doing glides and crazy c walk shit.. dont know if this is breaking ay but its somethin standing up anyways..
so, you guys think six step and swipes and get the breakdowns down first, then the spinny crazy cool shit? or what? im totally fucking lost and im eager as shit to learn to break. i practice constantly. my goal is to be able to windmill, halo, 90-90, master swipe, valdez (which i almost got), six step, cricket, turtle, and a few others by the end of the year.. is this realistic or just asking too much? cheers. any tips on what to do 1st would help A SHITLOAD! |

my mentor true starts us with toprock then he showed us 6step and then he tries to get us into some sort of freeze u know? he always pressures us to get our footwork down and always practice, luis santiago has been breakin for like a yr under him or 2yrs or wutever, but he still yells at him and makes him practice with us new bee's u know.... but i think workin on ur footwork, and 6step helps out, because from ur 6step u can do extra moves u know?

work on your stamina and body fizique, take things one step at a time, don't over do it ... takes time ... nothing can be done over night ... always stay safe and if you are injured do smth else that will not affect your wound !
do that and in 1 year time you'll be fine ! enjoy ! |

I think you should learn some footwork like sixstep and others and maby a baby freeze or some other kind of freeze. You could also start working on windmills and stuff but dont make it the only thing your practicing because it will take a while to get it. And always practice your toprock. The basics are easy but it takes a while to add style to it.
