hi level moves not so cool? -
06-12-2006, 03:35 PM
with the underground popularity of bboying, everyone wants to be able to do the harder stuff like flares and airflares, so naturally, everyone learns them and every good bboy can do them. Now that theyre everywhere, dont u think moves like airflares, that are supposed to be hard and cool, arnt so exciting because its like "woo okay, another person that can do it"...?

lol Halos were always my favourite move, well at least the Halo -> Icey Ice -> Halo combo
I dont really like Air Flares except in combos, like mills -> ONE airflare jump -> mill or something The same about flare, and the same about headspins those three are the only moves i dont really like i think... well in the Massive Monkees VS Pokemon video, one guy did a flare that looked just like air-windmills lol it was so cool.... but other than that i dont really like em cuz of the repeadativeness They can do em sure, im not stopping them.. It's just my personal opinion |

...another reason why I'm not interested in flares, windmills, etc.
I like freezes u can do different variations. Windmills, flares, etc. the most people know, because they saw it everywhere or in advertisment. But I'm sure head hollows, planches, invert hollows, elbow freezes, etc. the most people dont' know...?! |

See someone powermove in person and you'll change your mind. You really need to know how hard those moves are and see someone do them in order to understand the hype. Not to say freezes and style aren't important because they are, but power is definitely here to stay.

I can appreciate airflares and stuff and I'll still respect powerheads for their hard work and dedication, but I prefer when people mix style and powermoves. That's what I wanna be, a hybrid footwork stylist with some powermoves.

in my opinion,
doing powermoves is not the problem. repetitive power w/o style is the problem. |

yeah, but i forgot to say that when ur in a crowd of non bboys or bgirls, it really doesnt matter if u hav no style, cuz everything looks cool. thats why im learning airflares and flares (and its also a status thing)

He may not be original but he's dope and incredibly stylish and for that you gotta give props. As for airflares and flares etc, on video clips they are meh, but in person they are incredible. Peace |

yeah i agree.
Edit: Considering originality, I wouldn't say he's the "epitome" of a well rounded bboy. It takes alot more talent to originate something rather than copy it. |
