Exclamation No More Hip-Hop? - 06-05-2006, 01:31 AM

Refering to what people said in my last thread "Future Bboyz?"
Look u guys are not understanding me? I know that a culture has to change.
I know its OK that Hip-Hop is changing, But it will never be the same as it was in the early day (80's).
I Know u guys want things to change, well me too.
Thats why I want Hip-Hop to go to the next level. I want it to change!
Make it even better?

P.S. All I said before was that no future Hip-Hop can beat the true Hip-Hop back in the 80's!

PEACE,
Bboy Apollo

Why would you make a new thread just to say that? Is the old one locked or something?

because he wants to voice his opinions without justifying (for want of a better word) them against other opinions. Even though all hes doing is re-iterating what was said in the other thread.

well Apollo, what would you like to see changes then? The way hiphop's clothes look like, the way hiphop music sounds? Or is it the message hiphop has to spread?

If really want to get technical, "True Hip-Hop" hasn't existed since it was put on wax...so it died around 1979.

Were u in the 80s? unless so I'm not sure how u can say such a comment with any accuracy, as it is ur idea of fortune telling is a bit off.

How is it not better? Were just as raw, were more creative, theres many times more of us, we've grown and expanded.

Or are u referring to the commercialism....u do realize that happened in the
80s too right? It will continue to happen in cycles. I would love to know how the future or current inception of hiphop is worse than the 80s.....what about the 80s is MORE real? What about the 80s is MORE than this?

I'd love to hear any backing for such a ludacris statement.

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

I just read ur other post, if ur referring to people acting gangster as why hiphop isnt real or the same than ur not looking at hiphop ur looking at people in other cultures rocking aspects of hiphop

gangsters can bboy, doesnt mean hiphop is being gangster. People act hard in battles, doesnt mean its not hiphop.

I really do need any idea of why ur making the statements ur making or some evidence to support ur comments.

Theres enough positive as well as negative, no different than in the 80s, 90s, or today....

Getting preacher like about how its not real or true anymore doesnt make sense. theres no support to back that up when in reality we have grown, period.

If anything the MISCONCEPTIONS of hiphop are whats hurting it, and we deal with those just as they did in the 80s. It doesnt help when u have people popping on all day about how its dead n how gangsta is taking over hiphop when they arent the same. If our people dont get it, why should they?

Doesn't matter if he was there in the 80's or not, he is right. Hip hop has been gone for a long time. Yeah you have a few artist like Common, Floetry, etc but they don't sell like the studio gangstas do. The market revolves around racial sterotypes.

I'll give one fact to back that up....

The fact people like Dem franchise boys, young jeezy, 50 cent, etc have careers shows how much the culture has become meaningless. If it was the 70's early 80's these clowns wouldn't be on any records...

Yes there is positives of course but when the negitaves out weigh them then theres no much to say.

I'am not a hip hop fan that much myself but if I was like alot of people say they are, I'd be boycotting the trash that is promoted and demand something worth buying.... or downloading, LOL

really? hiphop has been gone? really? I wasnt aware of that....u need to clarify. Are we talking about the bboys? the emcees? The graff artists, or any other element of hiphop? are we talking about a culture that has grown and flourished to an insane amount of people going so far as to be recognized by the united nations....the largest governing body in the world?

Are we talking about all the people living and being part of the hiphop culture...

or are u generalizing because of the mainstream? because of the misconceptions. Seems to me it would do better to fix and correc the mistakes.....the thread starter also seems to be making, ie.... saying were turning into all thugs n gangsters. Dont stereotype the rest of us because of what the mainstream thinks of it, theres many more people keeping it true. What, ur tellin me because most real hiphop artists are underground we are dead? or because the mainstream blew up and took over the market were dead? Than u dont understand shit about the culture....we died in the 80s to most people except the elements and the culture have grown to such new levels that have been unprescendented for us or most cultures this quickly actually.

The negative form of hiphop? oh u mean the SUBCULTURES or SIMILIAR aspects of things? Ie....gangster rap...its NOT hiphop so why hold it against us? because they rap?

You do realize in the 80s u had just as many hardcore people bboyin, it started in the ghettos, what were they all nice? lol oh i doubt that very much. If ur going to talk about the negative aspects like I said, I want backing and support for ur claims. Holding other aspects from other cultures that intermingle with us is not only unfair, but its completely ridiculous to base ur claims on.

The market revolves around stereotypes? thats funny, i wasnt aware hiphop or its being alive was based on the market, i wasnt aware that we honestly cared that much about what people decide to listen to. Damn, that lil kids listening to 50 cent...hiphop must be dead. Please that shits funny as hell.

The 70s and 80s were a different time, people liked different music and the attitude of the people were different. First of all u guys are looking into ONE aspect of the CULTURE mind u and ur looking into a STEREOTYPE of that aspect. Awwww the kiddies love gangster music, that doesnt effect shit on how much hiphop is striving, we a culture, not just a type of music....and our artists are doing what they want to do, hiphop isnt about money...when it becomes about money is when we get little wanna be off shoots that ur complaining about. Hm...kinda ironic

ur taking ONE aspect of ENTIRE culture and trying to use it as ur defense? Your telling me that because lil kiddies like gangster music rap must be dead? Damn thats like saying those kiddies love death metal, real rock must be dead. No its underground, its doing its OWN thing, keeping to its roots and letting the world come full circle as it always does. I dont know how ANOTHER culture with similiar aspects of similiar ways of doing things, ie....rapping....we dont own rapping, gangster rap is NOT hiphop so why are u trying to say because gangster rap is big hiphop is dead. You do get its a culture right? u do get we dont need mainstream artists to survive?

I think its hiliarious that someone comes on her spouting about the truth, how we wont know it, blah blah blah, and the only thing ur going on is that we dont have mainstream hiphop artists out making it huge? please....they got careers, the people will like what they like it doesnt mean were dead, far from it. Compared to the 80s theres how many more people rocking the beat? how many more people killin it on the mic, wait were in how many countries around the world and doing what with how many people?

I forgot that all must got out the window because someones sad that we dont have any major record deals, we dont have them because thats not what people want to hear on the radio, its not whats big right now....n should it be? probally not actually. any time anything gets big u get dick riders and haters, doesnt do shit for the game....ask the people in the 80s who got shit on after it blew up n than died down.

Come on here talking about what we do and dont know, what we get and dont get.....please ur talking about ONE aspect of a culture that u dont even seem to get. Boo fucking hoo.......my hiphop artists i love to death arent making millions of dollars of lil teenie boppers who dont know any better, nah but their music is a lot better to bad the radio execs dont get it. Dead? You kidding me....look around, were killin it, so sorry were not making the money u seem to think we should than again the real heads know its not about the money its about the love of the CULTURE.

On a side note Kun, whats pawned off as hiphop is not hiphop, its a subsect of rap...big difference. If people would do more to kill the misconceptions that people helped grow to make the industry wat it is today than maybe we could reclaim our spot, until the youth of today change wat they think is hot, what they like to hear, what their attitudes or what they can relate to, were not gonna do shit....n the people complaining need to actually stand up n be real to the CULTURE, not just give into the misconceptions about what is or is not the culture and say its dead because this new shit has taken over....were not dead, not even remotely, were huge, were underground, were everywhere in every aspect.....we just dont ever kill the misconceptions that gangster is not hiphop, why not?

n apollo how old are u that ur callin any of us kiddies, how old are u that ur callin me a kiddie?

were u in the 80s? if so, i find it amusing ur talking shit about the death of hiphop when u should be proud of the rebirth of a culture that dimmed to almost nothing and blew up to what it is today, a globally recognized culture.

i would also find it amusing that u give into such crazy stereotypes of ur "people" instead of correcting them. How old are u really? u think anyone with at least any age to be talking like ur talking would understand the differencde between mainstream n being real.....dont blame the people on the market, its the people who dont know any better n the people like u who do nothing but complain n give into the stereotypes that let it happen...

so really, who are u to be calling me a kiddie? or any of us? were u there? n if so why do u seem bent on not understanding a damn thing about the CULTURE and spouting off about the mainstream of ONE element?

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.
