I'm sure anubis understands it fine. Give us your opinion. (the fact)
The reason I don't like krumpers is because they BASH ON BBOYS. Ever noticed? On krumpkings they were saying that bboying is out and krumping is in as the "hiphop" dance. WTH is that? Bboying will always be THE hiphop dance, krumping can be a dance to hiphop, but it's not THE dance. They'd have to build something up like a rep and a display of hard work and skill before they can take something on like the bboy community. They just jumped out of nowhere and started telling everyone that they're in and we're out. Sad thing is that everyone believed them. Unlike bboying when it was noticed by the media, who ignorantly took the expressions out of the dance. What about krumping? Where's the expression? How can someone really have a style? I've been on krumpkings and they teach different shakes and shit. What the hell is that? Teaching someone to shake is not teaching someone to dance. 'Cause MOST krumpers (the wannabes) get so caught up in "shaking" the only reason they're dancing is because they're going so fast, they going to hit the beat SOMETIME... Every krumper I've seen does the same stuff, like clapping in front then back while your body moves in the opposite direction. Or shaking their chest and putting their hands up to their *ahem pecs and *ahem again bouncing them. The most important thing in performing arts is expression. I mean, when I first listened to hiphop, I despised it because it lacked one of the key traditional elements of music: tune. As I started to bboy, I slowly realized that it was just a mean of expression. Every dance, play, movie, song should have expression. And krumping scrapes the line between expression and losing it. Because there's no time to express when krumping. That's my problem. Because they're going so fast you see one movement like 100000 times before the krumper moves on to the next. And don't get me wrong. Some bboys do that, and when they do that, I get bored and upset, as I do when I see krumping. Obviously there are techniques involved in krumping, but after you pass that it's a pitifully plain dance with no expression, backed up with a silly excuse about releasing anger or frustration. Reason this doesn't work is, they always look the same, regardless of what mood they claim to be in. When I'm in different moods, I bboy differently, which means that my mood influences what I do when I dance, or even in my life. Like when I'm mad and I dance, I can painlessly workout or commit some acts of masochism that would normally hurt me. When I'm feeling silly, I can easily act over the top. When I'm feeling wierd, I'll dance with a contortionistic style. When krumpers are feeling silly, they dance in frustration with a smile on their faces. When they're feeling angry, they dance in frustration with a furious look on their faces. When they're feeling stupid, they'll dance the same way, except maybe they'll open their mouths and so that "You Got Served" type face. I'm bored. I didn't sleep all night. It's 6 in the morning. Bye. |

No, hiphop dance is bboying. the hiphop dance you know of is bullshit. When people comments on the good points of the dance, all they come up with is "It allows you to be free in expressing yourself however you want" or "This dance can take you anywhere, it ahs no limitations." Yea thats all good except for the fact thats all it means is That it has absolutely no foundation, therefore proper technique is impossible, therefore it is impossible to accel at, meaning that you can never really say that someone is better than someone else at 'hiphop dancing.' A dance style NEEDS limitations and foundations, thats why its a style, if not, each and every dance style is ultimately the same as every other dance style. WHich means basically, that the words "Dance Styles" had absolutely no meaning anymore.
Also, movements may be inspired by other dances, but as I said before, those are just add ons for the dance, Bboying has its own foundation, no matter where a Dance style goes, as long as it still has foundation it remains true to itself. A dance style is used to interpret and project music through your body, if that doesn't happen than it is not a dance. Now if I am correct, Krumping is self expression? because thats what all the krumpers say it is, and its certainly seems so. So if it is self expresseion, and not expression of the music, how can it possibly be a dance? It can't. Its all well and jolly to krump and do with it whatever you want, but claiming its things that it really isn't is another story. Its bites from other dance styles, and claims itself as a dance, now i don't see how I wouldn't hate on it - no, Im not hating on the dance itself, but the people who created it and the people that claim it is what it obviously isn't. |

Alright the story had nothing to do with them being krumpers. I'm not reading those page long posts... Don't blame them for krumping, blame them for being dicks and takin the boombox. Fuckin with another mans boombox is a sin. Unless it wasn't really your boombox. whatever.
Even though i hate krumping, but whatever. anyone here can go write a book on why easily. |

Krumping is supposed to be self expression, but there's the point where there's no expression because oof the movements all looking similar. If two good krumpers battle, do they look different? Hell no.
When two bboys battle, they looks different. And the technical limitations can keep it a dance, true, but so does the expression. C'mon man. The idea is to express as much as possible, but as I was corrected, only express yourself to the limit where it's still a dance...Benji. |

i put krumpers and c-walkers into the same category. what they do doesn't really require rhythm or anything, plus all the ones i've seen think they're "gangster". if i see a c-walker or krumper who doesn't think he's "gangster" then ill respect him. i think that krumping, like bboying can look pretty good if its done right. same with c-walking(even though its the only move they can do usually)
