what kept yooh going . ? . breakdancing .
i found myself trying and trying . for a couple of years now . && its tough when yooh have no real guidance . i wanna be able to stick to this lifetime commitment , i have no faith in myself . its depressing. really . lols . i dont really have anyone to teach meeh . so i have no idea what exactly im doing . the only benefit i got from my experience . was flexibility doing the splits and more upper body strength then most girls have . but really . im interested in what yooh spirited bboys and bgirls have to say . |

AND it's sometimes good to not have someone teach you. then you can come up with your wack assed-style and when people see your style they'll be like "OMG it's bboy/bgirl so-n-so!" that's my goal. to have people recognize me by my style. by the way. i don't have anyone teaching me either, so i guess we're in the semi-same boat? |

You dont need to be ''taught'' by anyone. Yes getting taught foundation does help and getting told tips in ur breakin like loosening ur body, keeping ur ass up little shit like that. But from then on its all you. you have to guide yourself once u learn the basic. it helps if ur in ur local bboy scene but if u live in the country with 100 population i guess thats tough but u can still learn from videos n shit . but if u live in a town or city dont give me that ''there are no bboys in my city'' becoz there is bboys in every populated part of the world !! ur just not searching hard enough. so if u wanna get motivated and learn the basics get in to ur scene!

a huge motivation for me is the music.
also once i head to van in about 3 years im just gonna come out of nowhere and hopefully shock the @#$& out of the bboys/bgirls there. haha prolly not. i guess maybe watching bboys/bgirls that inspire you sorta helps. |

damn, well another motivation thats nice, is the respect you receive.
i mean i traveled around in the northwest and did shows with my friends. and well, damn having the women scream at you feels pretty damn good i'd say. and, you get labeled as a breakdancer, cept they have no clue or idea what their saying is ignorant. well. i dont know if its ignorant, but in my mind, i think its not the proper term for someone who expresses themselves and works on all aspects. i mean, i dont get cheers for my toprocking or my foot work. its the powermoves they like. and i guess... thats just one step you have up on them. |

I usually have to find a lot of motivation to keep me going since out here all music with a beat that isn't rock or country is rap. rap = satan music everybody hates and flames. So I always find a lot of hatred, this girl who used to be a really good friend heard that I break and such so she just completely hated me cuz I'm 'gangsta' ... <_<
But my motivation is that I'm part of something great, I am a Bboy in a culture that is all about understanding, peace and knowledge. You can take the worst breaker out there and he can easily be the greatest thing to ever bless Hip-Hop. The plus side that it keeps me fit is also quite awesome, standing out and seeing the crowd go nuts after I do some 90 or some thing is also really fun. So compared to being lazy, not fit, another not-knowing kid out there is really lame if you ask me. I just have to keep it real as much as I gotta keep breathing. That is my motivation. |
