Question about Wicket. - 12-13-2005, 02:31 AM

Wondering why people hate on Wicket so much. Have seen nothing but bagging from a lot of folks on bboy.org in concerns to Wick...

Read the rules before you post, please.

You'll find a lot of raggin on wicket a lot of places you look, but where or where are u lookin on bboy.org people rag on him. Ive been on here for a long ass time n i rarely even see wicket mentioned...hes not exactly a highlight bboy to talk about

n for ur reference, he has a huge ego for someone whos not that ill. N been doing the same rounds for years.

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

Actually, I put a search for Wicket through bboy.org's Search function.

Where did Wicket put an ego? Never heard it, personally, and I am genuinely curious, not trying to be sarcastic or antagonistic. Also, it seems to me Wick's all about style and using his footwork to battle... not powermoves.

Please understand I am not a bboy but a locker.

Yes, well its not exactly common for him to come up. I could put a search in for any number of things n come up with random ass posts. Doesnt mean theres a big rush for what I'm searching

Have u ever seen wicket give interviews or how he is? Hes not exactly good but he thinks hes untouchable. LoL as for his style, hes been doing the same rounds for god knows how long, n I forgot who mentioned it but hes a ken swift wanna be with his style. He doesnt do power much ANYMORE because he gets clowned anytime he tries. Hes oldschool...n shoulda stayed there. Anytime he comes out he gets beaten horribly. He only has a couple rounds n they arent that impressive.

He uses who he WAS to try n stay in the game....theres not much to him. Hes power is ugly n weak n his style is a complete rip off.

Actually, Wicket is a friend of mine. We're not very close, but every time we kick it he is very very chill.

Also, his style is obviously Ken Swift influenced... but I see more of his generation of bboy than the 80s generation of bboy in him. I disagree with you completely when you say his style is a complete rip off, especially since I know the guys who taught him a lot of his Brooklyn Rock, Uprock, and Toprock. lol. As for the "ego"... well, there's an older school of thought that says that it ups the game. But it seems to me that the more I watch bboys, the more technical and power-oriented it has become as opposed to an actual dance.

But whatever, what do I know about bboying?

You know him, okay, you can have your opinion....than again I would say its biased by the fact you know him.

Considering no one I know really likes him n thinks his dancing is a rip off...I'll stick to my own opinion about him.

Shrug, I just saw that there was people who had a negative opinion on Wicket and I just wanted to know why. Who cares if I know people? It doesn't make me a better dancer, doesn't improve my rep, and really doesn't matter in anyway.

So if that was an attempt at sarcasm, I'll pass.

Anubis, can you lock the thread please? My question's done.

lol i wasnt saying you know people so it helps you. I'm saying you know him personally so you have a bias to ur opinion. I know people no one likes but I defend them because I dont see it that way. I wasnt being sarcastic or attacking you. I was saying your going to have your opinion and I gave you why other people, or at least myself dont like him

N sure.
