Jeromskee of massive monkeys - 10-18-2005, 08:32 AM

Okay just a question for anyone who knows about this crew and the dancer in pariticular. He's from the massive monkeys crew, which i hear resides in seattle (i think, that's just from memory)

I was watching footage of this battle between Project Soul and Massive Monkeez (dope battle) and i wanted to know, is this guy any good? I've seen a clip of him from the premium video clip section and now this battle between massive monkeys but i really can't see any exceptional talent (well not the kind of talent that makes one a well renowned dancer).

I've watched him and apart from some pretty stylish toprock (which deserves props) and some fairly clean footwork (which is not bad) he only seems to have the occasional pike(but the same pike twice in the same battle), what might have been an airchair, a baby freeze and one blowup move.

I gotta credit him cause his style stands out fairly well and he's got good battle attitude but i'm really not seeing why he's known as a good dancer. Can soemone please enlighten me, cause in the battle i watched with massive monkeys and project soul the other dancer (forget his name but he was african american) really showed some amazing sets and sweet blowups (a couple of amazing suicides) but jeromskee didn't stand out with many good moves.

Any feedback would appreciated
PEeace

most of the guys from massive are pretty good...

i personally dont like jeromskee, i dont like his style....but thats just me. I cant deny that obviously hes doing something right if massive does so well, and a lot of the massive boys are good, i just dont like many of them in particuliar. I get what ur saying completely about him, he does do repetitive freezes, n the rest of him is pretty decent n stands out but its not like hes up there with some of the best, i think its a combination of being in massive monkeys n the team routines. but like i said, ipersonally dont see why either, i dont like a lot of them in general

The guy ur talking about is probally twixx by the way. hes prob one of the only ones i actually do like

theres better people in massive, as well as the fact jeromskee is more of a novelty, hes good but hes not by far among the best.

n more n more people i talk to tend not to like him...he has some stuff, but thats it

He didnt do well against pokemon. Ive seen him do better. He did some good shit against project soul but was outshone by twixx.

What makes jeromskee good is that he really rides the rythms in all parts of the song. Not only does he Hit beats, but if theres a bassline or piano other sounds that can be danced to in a song he will dance to those and he usually does it really well.

You guys are fucking trippin, jeromeskee always kills it. I agree his moves arn't all that difficult (except for his stab freeze push up holding leg thing) but he always throws down hard. His sets clean, he rarely messes up and rides the beat with so much energy. Def one of mm's top bboys.

I dunno, i mean riding beats and hitting all the right rhythms is important no doubt (it's the central precept of bboying) but his moves are repeated and he rarely varies his shit. He has no power whatsoever only one or two good freezes (airchair i think it was and a baby freeze) a pike that he repeats fairly often and some clean footwork, some decent toprock but only like one or two blowups. He's really not that good.

I don't care how clean your sets of toprock a couple of six steps and a pike are, if you're an international bboy you've GOTTA EXPAND YOUR REPERTOIRE of moves. His attitude is good, he really puts energy into it but as far as the other boys of massive monkeys go he just isn't that good, let alone the international bboys of other crews.

There are many bboys who's sets are clean and rarely mess up, but most if not all of them know most bboying moves there are to know. Take the dudes he faced from Project Soul (one of whom i think was Hong 10 but i'm really not sure so don't quote me on it) All of their sets were extremely polished and they rarely if ever stuffed up. Nevertheless they had the full arsenal of bboying moves at their disposal. If Twixx hadn't shown some amazing blowups and some incredible flips massive monkeys would have lost it, because when push comes to shove jeromskee doesn't have enough variation in his dancing.

Peace

Nah man,

physix and hong10 crashed HARD in that battle. That was them sucking!

You should see them when they are ON POINT. Much more crazy.

I agree jeromskee is limited, but when hes hot man he RIPS it. Trust me you will see better from him.

That battle was pretty amazing btw, i'm loving the style that Korean crews are developing nowadays; tight footwork, sick blowups, lots of tech freezes, all so fresh and smooth.

If that's them on a bad day they must be amazing when they go well.

Peace

You haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to say that kind of shit. How ignorant, he definitely has more than 2 blow-ups

Yet another extremely ignorant comment, is that honestly what you see from him? a couple of six-steps and a pike? Looks to me like you have no appreciation for the dance what so ever. Who are you to decide what's necessary to be an international bboy? Are YOU an international bboy? Didn't think so. Are you even a bboy at all?

You want to compare him to hong 10 now? When it comes to dancing jerome is on a whole other level to him, he would tear hong10 to pieces. Just like hong 10 would rip jerome when it comes to moves. They both specialize in different areas, the reason you don't like jerome is because you can't appreciate just how unique he is, when he throws down all you see is like you said "toprock sets and six-steps". Anyone can enjoy flashy moves, it takes other dancers to fully appreciate style.

I don't see why you're targeting jeromeski, it's obvious he's not the most alll rounded bboy in the world but he's still alot more all rounded than many others.

Don't you have better things to do than talk shit about real bboys? Why don't you focus on YOUR skills? Judging from your posts im guessing they arn't up to shit, speaking of which how long exactly have you been dancing?

^^nicely put, but Jeromeskee actually DOES have some decent blowups, for example 1 handed rollback, Im pretty sure jiz master zero over here can't do that.
