bboy stuff... -
10-11-2005, 07:01 PM
hi y'all!
my post is for newbees knowledge, about some things i use to see both in the past, and right now... I wanted to know if these things have any special meaning or history in bboy or hiphop culture: 1-the tipical oldchool bboy pose, cocky "beat street style" with arms crossed... 2-the "only-one-pulled-up" leg of trousers and shit ... 3-the playboy bunny symbol, seen lotta times in caps, shirts... thanks and peace ![]() |

not really...were just cocky, its a defiant gesture...i dont believe it has anything relevant outside attitude...cant touch this(no hammer jokes)
lol...the pant leg got brought up in another thread, where it comes from remains in debate, if it was to rep people or folk, say someone carried a balde or drugs, who knows....now adays i think its just a style thing or a practical thing n people just love their play boy, girls think it makes them hotter and guys love those girls lol |

all 3 of those things are all old skool .. the leg thing was to show that you dance .. and the arms is to just say like .. "word" or some thing .. and the playboy stuff is just some style .. seriously i think all three of those things are lame .. old days .. its time to evolve and get with the times .. people arent doing only windmills in power sets anymore ..

Anubis hit the nail on the head.
I have to say though, I hate seeing people rocking playboy gear. Never liked it. It's even worse when it's women. And recently young girls round here have started getting playboy clothes and jewelery - hate it. |

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.
There's just no point. |

Gotta give some props to Hugh Hefner and his company though for managing to bring what was once a taboo concept (of naked ladies) into the mainstream and making it so acceptable that mother's and father's allow young children to wear the products.
Their's even a playboy game now (revolving around the infamous playboy mansion and creating the empire), they've certainly come a long way from having to fight against censorship to being a part of mainstream pop culture. Peace |

I sorta agree with Zodiak....its all old school stuff, hes not classifying with anything wrong, its KNOWN as old school stuff, and its his opinion people should move on. theres nothing wrong with that
