I will be ready once my school's fashion show comes around. I'm doing a dancing set on stage. By then I should have flares down and jackhammers. I won't do it until then so I can surprise the shit out of everyone. But I think for most ppl it's when you feel comfortable. Most ppl I know think that the six step is like amazing lol so even if you do a bad set they won't even notice.

Floors are dirty in most clubs... it sucks badly. I had a toprock battle last night... The last time me and that guy did a dance battle was over a year ago. We tied back then (first time I didn't win a dancebattle at that club), and... we tied again last night. Bah! I want this settled once and for all! :P
Anyway, he's not in town often. I threw in some simple footwork, but the floor was dirty and slippery... I fucked up the footwork, but the crowd didn't really notice. We didn't have enough room to do anything else really. |

Dobb is spot on.
Whenever anyone I'm teaching comes to the club after practice, especially if it's their first day, I try to get them in the circle. Being in circles increases your confidence, and in my opinion speeds up your learning too. Anubis - I get them in even if they don't feel ready. LoL. I know a guy who is a really good bboy, was dancing in the 80's and got back into it at the start of the summer. He's almost never thrown down with us. Always says he's not ready and needs to improve. Some people would never get in if they waited til they felt ready. Only thing you have to do is take a couple of steps forward and start dancing - go do it. ![]() |

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.
There's just no point. |

When its a good song and you can feel your moment, but you should go for it whenever you can, dont worry about skill, get some practice in public, just the other nite i fell 3 times at a dance (bad day)......... most people dont care, just gotta practice more for next time

When I first went into the circle was at a school dance. Everyone hates hip hop around here, but i didn't care. The music was blasting some beats that just made my heart race. Next thing iknow theres a circle formin up. I was a simple noob back then, but i didn't care. I just went right in and dance all that i knew and made some new stuff up on the spot. I did some wack and some good stuff. Next thing i know, everyone is like, going nuts saying how great i was XD one year later i do a 90 and the think of me as God or something 0_o go figure.
But anyways, you should do it when things are right. There's the circle, there's the beats, there's the time when the dude clears the floor and you know that you have to go, no holding back. You step in, you do all your stuff, and you leave feeling like you just did the world a favor. In other words, you break and you do your stuff when the time is right. Although you might not feel it. |
