quit talkin shit and dance! -
07-30-2005, 10:24 AM
no matter how many props you get, there's always some jerkoff that's got somethin to say.
i was at this club called The Swamp last night and i got people to make a circle so i could break. i went in, did a few sets. everything was cool. this one guy called me out to battle. we only went one round each though. he did a nice gainer, but that was it. everything else was, yea, pretty bad. i went out and retaliated with my own gainer, then did a some tops for a while as i taunted him, then did some power and footwork and ended with a pike i believe. we shook hands and he gave me my props, then some other people jumped in a circle and we were all just havin a good time. then his one guy comes at me like "oh, do somethin other than breakin." muh fucka, how you gon tell me somethin like that. that's like tellin Michael Jordan to stop scorin points when he was playin, it ain't gonna happen. he runs his mouth about "be original" and "you're doin the same stuff over and over" which of course thats not true. i'm the most versatile bboy in this part of FL (no, i'm not tryin to be cocky, but it's the truth). hell, you can say the same thing about every dance style. we're all biters you know. anyway, i don't know why i bothered tellin him this, cause he was just a drunk idiot. but i was like "i don't copy anything from anyone. everything i do is my style, and it comes from the heart." then he's like "i own this club, i can't break, but anything else, i'll kill anybody." so me being me, i call his ass out. i was like "i don't care what type of dancin you do, i just wanna see you dance" and of course, like every other big mouth sucka ass jive turkey, he doesn't do anything. actually, he did do a lil bit sloppy poppin, then he tried to stick his shirt over my head, but he couldn't cause he was too fat, but like i said, i called him out like 5 times, and he still didn't do shit but run his mouth. now, i can't pop or anything, but i told him that my boy Skwints would mop the floor with anythin he threw at him. i even offered to give him my phone number so he could call me next time he came out (cause he said he lives in Tallahassee), but of course, he didn't take it. after that, i didn't see him for the rest of the night. effin poser. don't talk unless you plan on backin it up, cause i'll battle anyone, win or lose, it's all about respect and love for dancing. so anyway, after that was said and done, my friend Danielle and a few of her friends made it to the club and we chilled and danced with eachother. this one girl made a deal with me that if i tought her how to break, she would teach me how to pop, so that's cool with me. anyway, that's about it for now, so see you guys later. peace. |

Psychologically, his behavior that night is whats known as a "defense mechinisim". He felt inferior to your dance style so his ego made him feel as if he had to make up for it by being better then you in some other area ... in this case... by his own words ... it would have been "anything else besides breaking". lol. You just can't waste your time trying to prove crap to people like that mason. You knew the whole time you know what he doesn't and no matter how hard you try to convince him of your skills over his, this defense mechinisim of his will kick in. It's a pointless effort and anyone with skills will recognize skills.

Mason boy, you've really got it together!
I met this pretty English girl in Spain who offered to teach me popping or asked me to teach her. I'm not sure I understood which. Well, either way, that's totally fresh. A guy with your moves, you must LOVE hittin the floor at the club, and getting appreciation from folks who aren't dorks. When I was in Germany I started really shakin' a leg when a song I finally liked came on, but I think I bugged out too much and looked a little silly. But anyway, later on this guy borrowed my hat and he "imitated" my locking to tease me. I just laughed, I did think it was funny. But dancing is sensitive stuff! Don't insult peoples' dancing unless you're battling or they want your opinion. 'cause some people just wanna boogie down! |

yo mason how old are you man? To be perfectly honest, i'd love to dance at clubs but 1. i'm not old enough and 2. i'm still learning slowly and i'm mostly a newb.
![]() Anyway, it's good to see you did your thing, but you don't have to even bother, people like that are easy for even stupid people to see through. Keep breaking man, Peace |

I hate Crip Walking. Everyone does it now days and says they can dance. I mean I've seen 5th graders bust it out. Thing I hate even more is non bboying crowds forming a circle. Its all about the guy who does a backflip *rolls eyes*. You can pull out Airflares even and they still wont go for you unless you can do a backflip.
