Heyaz

Yup, I'm new to the forums but i've been a fan of this site for quite a while now.
16 year old malay from South Africa here. I've been into the hiphop scene for quite a while now but i only started bboyin' a few months ago. Funkstyles however are my specialty along with general street style. Thanks to you guys i've decided to enter da world of bboyin and i'm still a noob but i'm makin' progress slowly but surely.

So yeah, just wanted to introduce myself...Hope to learn lots from y'all.

Oh yeah i have a question to ask. At the moment i'm still a NooB-boy so i can't do much cept my stylin' is pretty decent and i definitely wanna specialise in rockin (specially toprockin'). I'm not as good as BboyWary and Expression yet but i'm workin on it. In terms of powermoves i ain't too good yet. I can do one legged swipes, 1 flare (not yet perfected) and turtles. Is that enough? How far do i need to go in terms of powa moves before i can focus on my styling completely?

Thanks

16yr old malay bboy stylist from South Africa representin'...
Now what's the chances i ask ya?

Bounca...
Don't think of it in tems of how far you need to go with power before working on "styling".

I work exclusively on toprock, footwork and drops.
I've never worked a great deal on power because it's not what interests me in the dance.
I'd say that it's more important to have tight toprock and footwork with clean drops, than it is to have great powermoves.
I'm not saying power isn't important, a rounded bboy should have everything looking good, but it's more important to be a good dancer than a good powermover.

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.
