im a newb at bboying so i dunno why people wear them. is it for protection of some sort, or is it just to look cool?

this is a real sensitive subject for me. I wear arm bands for a reason becasue I do alot of moves using my elbow's and forearms most breakers you see wearing arm bands they are usually wearing them protection or to do moves like elbow spins or elbow tracks. I hate the people who don't even know how to spell the word breakdance, wear armbands, man that pisses me off more than anything; people dressing like they can breakdance when all they can do is hump the air.

i hurt my wrist, started wearing and armband, and i found it easier to support myself on my injured wrist with a wristband on. could be a placebo effect, but it helps anyway.

also it helps for spinning my freezes.

i get sweaty and usually dance with no shirt on so i wipe my sweat. it really stinks after a while.

i wear them just because i like assesories (spelling?) like headband, armbands. but they also are used to spinning your freezes and stuff like that.

I wear wristbands out of habit because I used to have this large gash on my wrist, and hard tape made it too stiff (the wrist itself wasn't hurt, just a cut that kept opening) .. so I put the wristband over it to cover it. Now, it just feels comfy and prevents it from getting too sweaty.

Tsk Tsk, proper term 2 use emcintosh is BBOY not Breakdance, not that it matters.

i usally wear them large foam suits, police dog trainer's wear to train their attack dogs. i also add a headband. wristband and some elbow pads. Very Comforble and easy to move in i mite add.

That goes the same for me. Just yesterday I started helping my friend start out. I was getting annoyed because I was the only one I knew that could break within... I don't even know how far.
