hey folks, I know this is a topic that has been done many times all over the net, but just wanted to ask what some of your greatest musical or bboy influences are which affect the way you hit the floor? I know it's easy enough to give a general, anything/anyone answer, but if you really thought about it, what/who/where would you suppose you draw your style/presence/attitude from?
Me personally, Musical influences would mainly include raw soul/funk breaks and grooves [70s and 80s] and early hiphop party beats to modern day g.funk or funky house even. For me, the smoother the beat, the smoother my flow  my music has heaps to do with my floor presence, it can change the whole way my set goes from piece to piece... which can be good and bad hahaAs far as bboy-style influences go, my biggets allout influence is Wicket from rengades for his badass "no-nonsense" floor presence and his sharp destroy-all dance style. I draw heavily on the traditional floor-rocking footwork-based style of cats like Ken Swift, Alieness, Poe, Flomaster etc. and with my allround flow and method of blending my moves I'm inspired by cats like Kmel, Storm, Hong10 and some of my local boys, just for the completeness of their sets and how they always seem to leave the floor confident that they've made the most of it. This isn't to say I don't still focus on doing my own thing! these names are just people I have in my mind at times when i am lost in getting from one point to another or I'm feeling like shit about what I'm doing... eg "I wonder what Ken Swift would do in this situation?" lol sounds stupid buts thats me. my bboy influences come from Hong10, Junior, Darkness, Mouse. I really like the Korean bboys, their quick movements and dope power,lol
