Sup pees, I dunno if there is a thread for this already, but i didn't see one so...

Can someone post an official BOTY, or something close to the official BOTY rules for Battling. 1-1 or 2-2 or full group battles.

I do know the following is true though

1) No touching is allowed
2) BBoy/BGirl must complete routine within the given time period

That's actually all I know when it comes to battling, maybe someone can fill me (or other bboys) on the official rules

i cant say ive never been one, but yalls gotta get off going to the internet so much. im pretty sure u heard all the stories of everyone taking a break from the internet and the site to improve. i suggest you follow their advice. it just pisses me off that so many "bboys" nowadays depend so much on the internet to get their knowledge.

at the jams/battles ive been at, contact is allowed as long as u dont intentionally hurt someone else, just to humiliate em or show em up..
and of course theres usually beef so there can be fightin but that gets broken up and the battle goes on

Umm the fact is that he's prolly more involved in the scene than you, and so am I .. nobody depends on the internet for anything, but the reason people PUT stuff on the internet is to educate in cases where you don't get people telling you stuff in person -- case in point Ness, just trying to spread knowledge.

Not to be offensive but you seriously come off as jumping on the "hear-what-the-'good'-bboys-say-and-passionately -regurgitate-it" bandwagon .. it's funny because there are heads on here who get involved, learn, and come back and try to help further knowledege and half of it is either misinterpreted, over-bandwagon-ized, or antagonized by some other over cliched belief.

If you hate e-boys so much, you don't even have to deal with them. Most bboys get along fine elevating with the bboys in their scene. You're on this site for the same reason as everyone else .. to further your knowledge. If you're not, then you're either way too obsessed with propagandizing what you think 'real' bboys would say, or you just love being on your high horse amongst the e-boys. Seriously, you let it get to you too much. You'd prolly be much happier if you didn't care. If you know you can roast eboys if they ever happen to deserve it in your presence then you don't need anything else. damn.

By the way, no-contact was a rule at fss8 intended to prevent fights breaking out from crews antagonizing each other too much .. but it didn't really work, since gz ended up pissing everyone off anyways and ff got disqualified which pissed more people off

Hey man, all should lay off Pommy. Youre a smart guy. You help people. I respect you. Other guy: you should really get your head out of your ass. People can come here for whatever reason they want, and should be able to do it without running into jackasses who are just around to make themselves feel better. Props to all the newbs that have to balls to ask dumb questions. They shouldn't have to fuck around with ppl like you. Truth is son, a truly dedicated bboy will get his teaching from wherever he can. I jam with ppl, I come to this site, and hell I'll admit it, I even take lessons with a damn good instructor.

Anyway.... Battle rules... BASICALLY its anything goes, unless its arranged or whatever, but there are some 'curtosy' rules:

1. No touching. It's bad form, and in brooklyn rock, if you hit the guy, you lose sucka

2. Usually, teams will alternate people, so one run from team A, one from team B, yeah you can figure it out

3. it's RATHER bad form to step into the circle when another bboy is halfway through the run... DONT DO IT

4. after the guy finishes his run, first boy in gets the next run, if you missed it, you gotta wait (unless it's a team battle, obviously)

Hey, I don't know about you peeps, but where I live, where I live, there are NO Battles. The only time when I see a battle is clips from the net or TV, SO Excuse me if I don't know alot about it.
