I read a book on this. Slaves were not allowed to learn to fight so they disguised their fighting as dancing. Thusly I became Brizilian Ju-Jitsu (if im not mistaken on the style)

firstly...its gymnastics, but to the slave guy, ya might wanna point out that L-kicks n other shit like windmills are NOT taken...they were developed. they may have also been in other areas but as out "legacy" did not know about them, they did not take them

people are capable of developing similiar things, especially as generic n basic as an L-kick

china...slaves...those dont count in bboyin since the people creating the moves back than didnt have acess..

well not ot the point people try n make it, they took some things, but i refer back to something someone said about not taking things because they didnt know it existed, go watch freshest kids n learn ur history or talk to some of the founders n originators.

shut up

I've trudged through the sediment in search of the rhythm
Dove soul first to bathe nude in its abyss
Paid dues and made music my religion
Now I listen, close my eyes, and forget I even exist

Haha.
That's hilarious. Digging holes with headspins.

On the real front though...
Flares were invented by a gymnast.
The real name for them is "Thomas Flares".

Windmills were not taken from martial arts.
The traditional way into a windmill is with the use of a neckmove (also the traditional way into a backspin - which is the predecessor to the windmill)
The split-kick method of entering mills and backspins came later on - this is something that could be argued to have come from martial arts, but the moves them selves, as Anubis rightly pointed out, developed in isolation from other, earlier bboying moves.

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.
