I read in a FAQ that it's one of the best materials to breakdance on. I know it's better that cardboard, but why's it better? Is it softer? Does it move less (Cardboard tends to move sometimes when you're doing power moves)? I was wondering because I'm tired of finding new boxes everytime mine breaks, but I don't want to drop 30 dollars on an 8 by 10 feet lino if it isn't going to work well.

linoleum is smoother and easier to spin on, also gives u more grip for footwork, ect.

its by far my second favorite thing to dance on,

1)marble floors:hard as fuck but worth the pain
2) Lino: a classic with many advantages
3)hard wood: another classic all around dance floor

ouch, marble floors? Those are hard as hell, but I know they're pretty smooth. I think i'll just get some lino then.

marble and polished wood own. who cares if they hurt. negative reinforcement, avoid the pain and be dope.

Back in he day we used to combine the lino and cardboard to make it softer. Put the cardboard under the lino. Especially if it was heavy enuff lino. Try and and see. Not too much cardboard mind...only one layer!

these days, you can just get carpet padding from home depot. it's about the same size as the lino and you tape it under the lino.
