Move Difficulty Ratings -
07-11-2004, 01:17 AM
Hi, just to get a general idea, can you rate these power moves' difficulties? 1-10, 1 being easy. Just so I can get an idea as to what to work on first.
And by difficulty, I mean how hard it is to be able to do at least 3 repetitions. -Windmill -Flare -Airflare -Headspin |

it depends on the person's learning level. i mean to me learning 1 flare was easier than learning how to link mills. i've seen a vid of a person that could do three airtracks, but had difficulty doing two flares. anyway, here are my ratings using your system.
windmills (i'm assuming you mean stabbed mills)- 5 flares- 7 airtracks- 10 headspin-6 i'm guessing you are just starting out, so learn mills first. it's an essential powermove. |

Airflares aren't handstands and aren't balanced like handstands .. they're like halos and in a way swipes .. if you understand the motion, you'll get em faster
Anyways, my ratings mills : 2-4 headspin: 1-3 flares : 4-5 to learn, 7 to keep going .. they're a bitch to keep going, doing 7 is friggin difficult Airflares : 7-9 |

If you practice nothing but those, you'll get em.

Hate to burst your bubble but you will probably never get them, ever.
If you train 6 hours everyday (the longest someone who is skilled can train over a long time period) you will probably get them in 2 years, but that doesn't matter because you will never train that much anyways. |

ok, thanks, getting info from experienced bboys is nice, hmm power moves take more effort than i thought but it's still definately worth it.
What about a 1990? How would you rate that? |

90s are like headspins... its a wide range. It's not that hard to hit them but it's really hard to hit them good. I would say 4-7

lol chucky . what he said is kinda true it all depends on your mentality and methods. 90's , flares, headspins, millz, trax, all use the same kinda of power and whip, just in different areas. in 90's the torque comes from your legs and hip, and balance is what keeps you going but you only get one intial whip unless your doing those other screw like 90s which i heard of but never saw. flares all your power comes from your legs and hip and keeping them spread eagle and torquing it. headspins your using your legs to whip and your hands to tap for balance. millz your using your legs and hip, trax your using mostly your hip(still dont got em). Damn the hip is pretty important. most people dont know. And if you train hard you can get these moves, perfected, in 2 years generally but i wouldnt say thats hardcore 6 hour day training cuz most of the time people say 2 years cuz of other things like injuries, time off, and shit like that. hardcore "korean" training you prolly will get better results. Even though the moves do take power its more technyc and balance than power. cuz obviously lil kidz can get sick power pretty fast.
