Breaking in front of whole school - 05-20-2004, 07:52 PM

lol it was the founder of the school's birthday today. So we had a celebration assembly. My friend, Oscar, asked me if i wanted to perform, i was like sure.

So i was hanging out with his crew, there were many other types of performances before us. Hip hop dancing... singing... rock band... Then it was our turn.

I was pumped.

3 guys went in before i did... They were way better than me (they can do windmills no problem).

I didnt even do any moves yet and they were already cheering for me.

I went in did a coindrop and did some crazily fast footwork with variation and did some handstand freezes. I got the whole school screaming for me.

I got all pissed because i kept doing the same thing over and over for like 2-3 rounds.

Then i started popping. I got the whole school cheering for me again...

After... All my classmates turned into haters... You killed it dude... You shoulda stuck to breaking.... Your stupid dude...

Yah really? The school didnt have a problem with that. F*king haters...

When i was breaking i went into a turtle freeze and had my thumb in the wrong place and broke it (again). But i cant tell my parents because they'll make me quit. I know it will heal by itslef after maybe a month or two.

What should i do?

Hey man, congrats on the performance. bout your thumb, make sure it heals right, cuz my pinky didn't heal right and now it looks retarded, for lackof a better word. Either do that or tell your parents you fell in class and broke it or something.

We got some pretty good bboys over here. I only know of one crew here though. Dont know its name, but one of the guys i know. He knows all power moves and he has some pretty good style.

Ignore what the others says and thinks about you. You did great! And if they didn't see that the popping was for creativity and something new, it's their problem.

Yeah, ignore all their hating. Because people only hate because you can do something that they can't do. And it shows you're better than them and it's not your fault. It's theirs...
