2 more questions =\ - 05-13-2004, 03:54 PM

Lol sorry.. ill try to stop asking so many noobie questions, but im learning. Anyways.. I just got the DVD 2 days ago, and yesterday was like my first day of actually learning constantly. And i thought i was in shape before (I taught a cardio class). Anyways, i woke up today and im sore as a motha. Is there anyway i can get the soreness down? CUZ I WANNA DANCE! Im sitting here so mad cuz everytime i go and try, im to sore to go and do anything. Also the second question, yesterday i learned alot of the moves, and one problem i came acrossed, (i noticed it when i started doing tornadoes fast) I get dizzy so easily. What do i do, or how do i sotp this? Ive seen people do so many spins, and get up with out wobbling. It never occured to me, until i actually tried, that you get dizzy. Any help? Thx~

(Oh and another thing, is it possible to edit or change my name on here? or do i have to create another account?)

1) Stretch alot before AND after your b-boying session, stretch most the places that hurt the most. I take ice baths after a huge round of b-boying. If you can do them your set, but if not just use ice. Heat after that, just in case you've hurt anything, and it will make it feel nice. You still might hurt a bit, but play through the soreness if you can. Ex: if your arm hurts, practise your Top-Rock.

2) As you practise more and more, the dizzyness should go down, think of figure scaters and how fast they spin. I wouln't worry about that so early on.

3) I don't think it's possible to change your name without, starting a new account. sorry.

P.M. me for some good info, hope this helps; take it easy

It's also very good to take a shower after you dance. Hot showers are good.

A big reason you'll be hurting, is that bboying uses muscle groups you really won't use for many other things, if anything. The more these muscles get used to working, the less you'll hurt.

May be a good idea to just take a little time out to let the pain subside (a day or two should be plenty) and then go again.

When I'm doing tornados - I usually concentrate on a point on the floor. As you'll see - break easy changes position between spins, so with each change the point moves, but that doesn't matter.
I find that doing this I get less dizzy than looking up and out.

I use a similar thing with my swipes. I fix a point on the ground near my hands with my eyes the best I can, and again I tend to avoid too much dizziness.

And no - you can't change your username. You'll need to re-register.

A bboy without style, is like a broken pencil.

There's just no point.
