I'm assuming you mean by proof you mean by everyday situations...So if I said I had just did the first triple airtrack in the world would you question me and ask for proof? I doubt that you got your windmills by praying. God doesn't answer prayers cuz hes a fuckhead. And yes, I do have reasons to believe that, if you want them ask me, but I prayed to God for little things and waited years for them to be answered but the stupid "upper being wouldn't." Religion is only for those that are to weak to stand alone. And I know atheist peeps that get windmills and god didn't help them out dude. You did that all byy yourself. Woot Woot!

Gogglez - it sounds like you're feeling somewhat bitter about something.

Why weren't your prayers answered? There's a whole host of reasons.
If the only time you prayed was to ask for something - then why on earth would God give it to you?
I've used this example recently elsewhere...
If you had a friend who never called or hung out with you, but turned up at your door asking for money when he was short - would that be someon you wanted to help out?
Maybe if you actually spent some time just being with god - or thanking him for a few things rather than just asking for stuff.

Or maybe you didn't get what you prayed for because it wasn't what was best for you, or would have harmed you in some way.

Or maybe God just wanted you to go and get what you wanted on your own. To take the initiative.


Prayer isn't like a mail order website you know. Where you just tell them what you want and you get it.


Now I'm aware the issue of unanswered prayer is a close issue for some on here - and I don't pretend to have answers for that situation. It's actually one of the hard parts of free will really.
If you know I'm talking about you here - and you probably do - then get in touch on AIM - I've got a bible reference that I think is kinda relavent - I'm sure you'll know it already - but still.

hmm wow really harsh words there...prayer is a form of communication to God and God doesnt always answer prayers in the way you think. He works in mysterious ways and for a good reason! ^^ Anyhow you are entitled to your opinion but you got one thing incorrect that it is a relationship with God Not so much as a religion.

But don't forget he gives us all unconditional love and forgives even the greatest of sins (assuming we stop doing it). Hes like a friend that never gets mad at ya

That is your logic. some things dont need proof. then again, some things need proof. 'hey, the stoned, drunk homeless guy down the road says that if you get run over by a train, you will live a life full of merriment and joy!' there is proof that this will kill you. You shouldnt believe everything you hear. To me, the bible is like that. It isn't that proof is for weak minds, it is that a lack of proof is for gullible minds. By the way, I'm i favour of religion. it keeps the morals of those who are religious high, preventing them from causing atrocities because they lacked these basic morals. However, i have the morals of not killing people and being racist and all that, so why spend valuable time in my life praying to some god who probably doesnt exist, and whose 'word' is contradicted by proven scientific findings? I have a choice: believe in some unproven fanciful dream, or live in a world of truths, proven by science. when they clash, i choose the real life, science, as it is known to be true, whereas the bible and other holy books just say they are from some higher being, with no sign of truthfulness in it.

Not knocking religion, as I said, it holds many moral fibres together, it gives many hope, but I don't believe it and refuse to live a lie, wasting my time in prayer and reading books, when i could be doing what want to, living in the real world, rather than hoping for divine intervention in my life or some holy salvation.
