I recently injured myself dirtbiking, i was going 50 kms and clipped a fence and went over the handle bars, it was real stupid, i sprained my left wrist which is the side that i do most freezes and one handed stuff on, and i can only throw a few hand stands before it will start hurting, im kind of a beginner and i can't do anythign with my right arm, what do u guys think u should practice when you injur your arms?
hmm moves that dont need arms...
toprock and maybe 1 handed freezes on the other arm. but dont try very difficult ones that you will need your injured arm to catch you if u fall.
yeh go get some sick toprock and uprock so youll be a pro when you heal
yea I fuked up my shin awhile ago and basically all I did was freezes and amazingly enough thats when I learned one legged swipes cause the lack of ability to use my other leg. The landing actually sent some vibrations to my leg and made me feel like I was gonna throw up but each their own right?
aerials, no handed flips cept well u might need ur handslol but uhh and no handed windmills, like uhh nutcrackers or barrels or something yeah headspigns too
not if u do them from no hander mills or babies, and i can go into mils from a no handed coindrop, some peopel go into mills from babies too which dont require hands
It's also possible to work on some footwork steps. Using only one hand - come up with as many movements and combinations as you can.
Maybe put your injured hand into the puch on a hoodie to avoid the temptation to put it down.
Gutted on the crash though man. 50kph over the bars? Sounds suitably spectacular. Did you hit the fence head on? Or was it more of a side swipe into a stack?
Personally I found in my mountain biking days that it was sometimes the slower cartwheel type crashes that hurt more and did more damage than the high speed lose the bike and slam type.
the front of the bike got caught and whipped the back forward i knew there was no way i was going to stay on the bike so i just bailed as best i could and i did a pretty good over the shoulder roll and got right back on my feet, but its weird cuase i remember getting right onto my feet off my right shoulder but my entire left side was shaking and my foot and wrist hurt, i was in shock and couldn't pick up the bike so i kinda stumbled over and turned off the gas and waited for my friends who were in front of me to come back.
wow that sounds lucky. ya just work on toprock and maybe footwork cuz that doesnt put as much stress on the wrists. also try forearm freezes i think that might work. practice no handed kip ups so ull b pro at those, and maybe headstand stuff since that doesnt put as much stress on ur wrists either
