ok WHAT THE FUCK...

I go to middle school.. pretty much a whitie middle school and all I did was start doing 6 step cuz I just started and already 5 seconds later a guy comes up to me and tells me to stay on my feet or get out.. what the fuck... that totally ticked me off. how can you not let break dancing? I kept asking why and he just say you can't.. so I just backed off but then I was doing it a second time he came up to me again and I said you know what this is a dance and im dancing there should be no problems and he said "wanna go talk to the principal" so I said YEAH I DO cuz thats total bs. I went and talked to her and she said theres no room (theres plenty of room) and when you do it, you kick people and people get hurt. how stupid is that?? ugh!

I really doubt that rebelling would work at my school. Just so you know, im in middle school. Anyway, even if half the school rebelled, they probably wouldn't change the rule... They want people to "feel safe" wtf if you don't like it then don't be around it and if you don't want to get hit then back up. It's not my problem..

If you are serious about this you could apeal to the district or the super-intendant. But be smart about it. Don't just be like "uh, we should uh, be allowed to uh, breakdance, cause uh, it's really cool. yeah." Give them legitimate reasons why you think it should be allowed, and be sure you can counter thier come-backs. I'm sure thier main one will be saftey.

thing is, nobody else at our school breaks but me. I go to cupertino middle school about 500 kids.. 6th, 7th, 8th grade. im 13 and in 7th (got in school late)

I guess rebelling sounds good and yeah I have pretty decent reasons but if I just keep DOING IT at dances, then ill just get kicked out. that's pretty much how it works. nobody would help me rebell anyway. like I said, im only breaker.. very sad whiteass school.

well no shit buddy its a grade 6 7 8 school u prolly shouldn't break....but i remember when i was in grade i did this...6 step but wasn't really it was more running around with arms on floor and every teacher...and kid was like OH SHITTT DAMNNN THATS AMAZING...then i tried it at high school lol n everyone was like BOOOOOOO...so i started workin my butt off.....so my point is stay underground for another 2 years. Then when u get to high school....rip up dances

I find that school authority people tend to like being in control and will find any stupid reasons to justify their own actions as well as each others actions. But to find a good reason for breakdancing, that's kinda a hard one....

You can tell them its your way of expressing yourself....
Its part of a religion that requires you to break between classes and freetime like during lunch or recess or whatever you kids got nowadays =D

Ask them what they would rather have you do....get into a fight with someone or breakdance?

Just throwin out ideas....not sure if any of those would help....tell them they got plenty of space and if u do manage to hit someone doina six step...it isnt really gonna hurt them unless u were really hitting it....i cant imagine hurtin anyone THAT much if u hit them on a breakin move...maybe if u manage to somehow hit their face or head...

But seriously, is this a problem with the kids or the authority or both? cuz if its both, i got a simple solution

1)Keep practising outside of school. Learn some more complex footwork, some power, freezes, etc. Learn the terminology as well.

2)As soon as u get half decent, come back to school and start breaking. Believe me, even if ur school is white theyll appreciate it if ur good. If they dont, they just got beef with u.

3)If the principle tells u to stop, keep doing it. If they threaten suspension, keep doing it. If they suspend u, keep doing it. In fact, if u dont want the suspension (not like it relly matters at all in Gr 7...) ask the principle how to contact their superior and talk to them. Im sure ull get that alliviated pretty quickly since the principle had no solid ground to suspend u on. If its just a DT, dont sweat it. Practise ur freezes

4)If this doesnt work, dont tell them a deviously clever persona on the internet at bboy.org under the alias of bboymurda told u to do it, and he doesnt end his posts like this...

at my school in australia you sort of get the good with the bad like for example, we have like a performance evening every year n me n some other bboys get together to perform and we get like some teachers that are really acceptive of this n others that are against, there was this one time where i had 2 go practise during class (the other bboys had a free period, lucky bastards) n i had 2 ask my relief teacher 2 get out of class n hes reaction was 'only if u show me some moves', i was so stunned by wat he sed it wasnt funny, newayz i showed him like mills into turtles or sumthing n he was very inpressed n let me go n i was very greatful, but, on the other hand i get teachers who if im bboying in ma schools hall than they will go out of there way 2 stop me like cum up wif stupid reasons y i cant do it so now i made and agreement wif tha principal that bboys can bboy but they cant do nufin on there heads and have 2 be cautious of one lookers, n we had 2 sign insurance forms so that its our responsibility if we get injured which i think is fair
