Moderators Take Time out? - 03-22-2004, 11:27 PM

I've been doing some thinking on this for awhile..

I use to be the moderator of a forum just like this one..same forum layout and so forth...

I think maybe 3 or 4 of the moderators should take time out of their posting or whatever and clean up the forums...

Delete all the stupid threads..ya know? Clean the place up a bit...

Just a thought.

What I suggest...in all honesty

Is that every single moderator, each one of you guys pick a forum to check out...such as the "Word up" Forum and just start picking each thread and so forth..

and double, even triple up if needed...I know it's hard..trust me, I've been a mod before on forums LOL it sucks ass...but it'll make the forum look nice.

All of the mods actully have assigned boards to watch over. I notice them doing "Spring Cleaning" all the time, it happens quite a bit if you get into a heated argument with some Spamming Troll. Once the swearing really starts to fly, they'll sweep it out the door.

Geen...its not about number of posts in a thread, its content based

and most of us can only do certain areas of the board with overlapping occuring, we do what we can. trust me, ive started to a lot more

the mods are doing more then you think .
you just can't see it . many times things are going on and mods fix it up before anybody even notice
and yeah , everytime i come in i clean , move , delete threads . i'm only a word up mod so i don't have control over what happening at other places .
usually everybody's saying there's too much spam , but the moment some mod delete's a spam thread , they all starts crying and arguing with him . everybody acts like " yeah , we want justice to be done " . but that's until someone touchs their thread , lol . then they start a riot .
when i became a mod , i was kinda strict and locked threads left and right . everybody came jumping on me , saying i was on powertrips and gave me shit. anyway we and anubis talked about it , we came up with an idea , anubis pmed tane and the general discussion was created . it was supposed to be for talking about other things then just bboying , topics that appeal to a larger precent of the members . people just kept spamming there and here , and again , complained when people touched their threads , so i'm just kinda of gave up .
i have no problems with games thread as long as it done in meausre , not like 5 games threads on the top of the forum . i don't mind spamming as long as it has some point ( even if somewhat bizzare ) and not just spamming pointless .

I actually stopped posting for a few weeks and only came on here to mod mostly just recently.

I move things to their proper boards all the time. When people come over to the bgirl forum and say "any bgirls in ohio" that goes straight to the Hook Up.

I've even went back as far as last year and deleted some pointless threads. I also change the names of threads to what the threads actually about.

For example someone starts a thread that says "Okay" and I read it and its like, I'm really pissed at my mom, she won't let me bboy and my father hates me. So I'll title the thread "Family Problems" .....that makes sense right? That way people KNOW what the threads about instead of wasting their time reading threads they might not be interested in.

The moderators have a LOT of work to do, I think it's up to the members to read the rules of each forum and post intelligently more often.

Not just posts like ha ha or or could sumone plz teach me? or I have girl problems.........LOOK around before you start threads and contribute to the one already created. That's what the SEARCH bar is for. 9 outta 10 times the thread is around somewhere and just needs to be bumped with a fresh response.

So anyways I give all my fellow mods much respect for constantly trying to keep things organized. Imagine if there were no mods and it was just Tane? This place would be a mass of spam... believe me.
