basicly just duct tape it down. Some poeple prefer it softer so they put carpert or a whole of carboard down underneath of it.

my arsenal:

Toprock
Floorwork
turtle(freeze)
handglide
swipe(2-legged,air swipes))
skyscraper
handstand(2handed-16 sec,1handed-2 sec.)
baby freeze

Carpet is in fact the best for practising, nice and soft but also somtimes feels like burning.

Well clearly you need to up-grade your knowledge of the "floor-to-move ratio" learn what moves go best on what floor.

lool... - 03-21-2004, 08:52 PM

actually.. i always practice on carpet, and i find it better than the wooden flooring because it is softer.. and good grip..unless its headspin, lol

at first when i first started practicing on carpet i burned both shoulders, arms etc.. and after that.. i learnt how to do it in such a way were i do not feel no scratch or nothing!.. i guess i got used to it!

and now i can do it better on carpet rather than any other flooring..

what do you meen by cardboard?.. normal cardboard cardboard?.. is that what you use to break on?

I practice on carpet alot. I practice mills too, and unless you stall out on one phase of the mill, its relatively painless. I got burns when I started to slow down and got stuck moving between the front and back part or the mill. Otherwise its almost like resistance training. Less spin on carpeting means when I get them down cold they will me super fast on lino. It does give you a different feel for some moves then on lino (Just a forewarning)

And dont think you cant get burns on cardboard, you definatly can. But put some tape down on the edges and it will stay put, unless you put it on something like carpeting or grass.
