Best B-boy movie? - 03-19-2004, 08:07 PM

what is the best b-boy movie ever in you're opinion? I would have to say Breakin' is the best with You Got Served in a close second.

Breakin' is not too bad, any movie that is actully considered a "cult-favorite" such as that is pretty good in my opinion. Now "You Got Served" is not a Cult Favorite, mabye not yet, but I don't know if it every will be. It's target audience was generel youth, I don't recall if they ever even said the word B-boy in it. The acting was terrible, but it's an alright flick if your a fan.

Beatstreet, I think that was a decent movie. It touched on all 4 elements of hip hop, the graff artist always looking for a fresh white train or wall to prove his territory and worth as an artist, the dj and party organizer who just wanted his people to have a good time. The numerous emcees, but the main focus was the bboys. Especially the main character, how he wanted so badly for society and his fellow peers to respect him and recognize him as a dancer, but the struggle to not look like a fool and to be exploited by the media and the hype. I thought it was a good movie, come on how many times could you ever see Rock Steady Crew perform and battle in a movie? The battle at the Roxy or the Subway battle where the security guards busted them and thought they were fighting when they started to brooklyn toprock. Great memories lol. Other good picks, Breakin was good, Wildstyle, not really a bboy movie but it did deal with the culture mostly the music and graffiti.

"If you can't handle yourself in a battle, then you don't deserve to call yourself a bboy"- Crazy Legs

Ha! I heard your kung fu was strong and impressive. But you can not beat my style! HA HA HA lol J/k but we all know I'd win

You have to become a part of the culture to learn the history, tradition and foundations behind it, along with the experiences it brings - Me

"Posers" are the peeps, that personally I think, are those who are talk and no dance. If they can't get down and dirty on the floor like the dirt that flys from their mouth then grill 'em, sizzle fry their ass - Me

In my opinion these are the best bboy movies:

1.Freshest Kids Out
2.Style Wars
3.Breakin'
4.Breakin' 2
5.Beat Street
6.Wildstyle
7.Flashdance
and maybe Got Served would be like bottom last don't get me wrong its a pretty good movie but I don't thik it's a overall bboy movie , although it has some bboying in it. It's more about Freestyle hip hop dancing.

Vin Diesel and the Internet - relation? I THINK SO

Vin Diesel invented the internet while trying to steal cable TV.

Contrary to popular belief, it was in fact Vin Diesel who invented the internet. Al Gore stole the designs when Vin fell asleep at his keyboard.

Yeah in my opinion i would have to say that Beat Street is one of the better bboy movies. I hated You Got Served though, especially that gay part when those guys were dancing in the rain and when they were selling drugs. I mean they didnt even say that they were selling drugs you just had to assume. Overall, Beat Street =good , You Got Served =BAD!!!

if u couldnt figure out what they were selling ur an idiot lol, they made it obvious. the rain part was more inspirational, being injured myself i can understand that

dont knock shit, since beatstreet had some of the worst acting ever.

Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

Beginners giving beginners tips without understanding what they are saying is probally one of the worst ways to spread KNOWLEDGE.....which is the key to anything in life.

Ive only seen Both Breakins to far, I think the first is is more true to the Culture, and the second one was a sell out type of a movie.

Even though both movies should be called Lockin' instead of breakin since thats what they do most of the time.

Bboying is what you make it.
