im totally new to bboying .............ny friend has been motivating me 2 do it ( AZas123 ) and i wanted to kno wat i should start with first.....................any suggestions?

Yea - Go check out the beginner section and guides in the Moves Section part of this site.

Start off working on these...

Toprock (Toprock section)
Front Sweep (Drops section)
6 step, 3step (Footwork section)
babyfreeze and chairfreeze (freeze section)

Once you've got them to a point whenre they just flow easilly rather than you having to think loads about it, move onto these.

Back sweep, Knee drop and corcscrew (Drops section)
4 step, 2 step and some "techs" (Footwork section)
Drills and backspins (Spins section)
Swipes-2footed (Swpies section)

All this will take you a good while to get to a reasonable standard.

If you work on these things first, after maybe 6 months or so you'll have one or two throwdowns that are good enough to do in a circle. If you skip these and go straight onto the flashy moves like windmills, all you'll have in 6 months are some nice mills, and nothing else - you can't do that in a cricle.

When you're at this point you'll have a good idea of the kind of moves you prefer, and can start to specialise a little more.


Whenever you go into a sub-section on the Moves forum, reat the "Read here first" thread I've posted. It'll help you with what is in each section and give you a taster of the history of the history of moves in that particular section.
