kmel on star search... - 01-24-2004, 11:40 PM

ok... i officially think the show star search is fucking lame....

kmel was on it today... him and a few other dudes.. ( i think the dude from rockforce who can hit nasty hollowbacks was there too)... they were " a brand new old school"

but anyway.... they went up against people who salsa dancers...

first off.. i dont think puttin a street dance up against something like salsa is unfair..... 2 different kinds of dances/cultures....

second off.. the judges had no idea what the hell they were seeing... one guy did a little bit .. but he was an idiot and "wanted to see more power" ... he figured kmels power wasnt powerful enough .. even though kmel was mixing power with style...

judged unfairly in that sense.....

they (the judges) also thought the choreography sucked.... even though it didnt..... they just really had no idea what the hell they were watching.....

i find that so unfair these days..... i was screaming at the tv by the time it was over.......

kmel and his crew didnt do great..but they did really well

they didnt deserve the harsh criticism that they got for the dumbass judges

i know i gave kmel and his crew props..... bboy to bboy....

im going to sleep now.....

Are you sure any of those guys was K-Mel?
And the guy from Rock Force who can hollow back really well is Jeff and none of those guys looked like Jeff.

The only thing that looked like K-Mel shit was the sideways spider that he did under that guys back bridge. That was about it. Everything else wasn't really that cool. The only power was a flare to a windmill with some swipes somewhere in there and the coreography wasn't even that good. No inventive footwork to speak of. The only thing that was halfway alright was the one guy who had a nice airchair. That's pretty much it.

Actually I was kinda taken back because on of the judges said that thier powermoves weren't that good and I actually had to agree with them. They weren't that good.

I was surprised that he actually said "powermoves".

it was kmel f stylz... i know his style and what he looks like... and it was him.....

the guy from rockforce... that your talkin bout.. is he black?

but anyway... kmel barely did any power... just a flare to his signature flare to mill suicide to a hollow..... it wasnt power power... power mixed with style to b exact.....

the judges had no idea.....

Yeah, I know what K-Mel looks like too.

And yes, Jeff is tall and black.

Either way, they could have come up with some better ideas for coreographing that shit. It would have been interesting if they had won and then challenged Do-Knock who would to have had to hold it down by himself.

yeah that was definetly Kamel, you could tell by his face and his flare-windmill thingy, but i have to agree with F stylez, the power was a little sloppy and the choreography wasn't to good either. They had some nice airchairs tho. You can't really expect C-list celebrities to be very knowledgable about bboyin, so i guess it's not their fault, but if theyre gonna judge sumthin, they should know about it....

I've seen kmels performance I thought it was alright , I don't really agree too much with the judges , especially that guy Manny Fleisher , he said their" powermoves weren't powerful enough". Also the previous star search he dissed the two poppers legend and tempo. What he said about tempo and legend was worse , he said that their dance style was old , and it's nothing he hasn't seen before and that their moves are the same moves done when breakdancing first came out. I bet he wouldn't dare say that to Mr. Wiggles ,cus he get slapped up side his Q ball head. I could obiviously tell this guy although using the term powermove , still knows little to nothing about , popping ,locking and bboying. Besides , some of the people who are currently winning and getting in the winners circle aren't that good , I could believe those two ballet dancers won and the salsa dancers lost.
This is why I'm not too big on a lot of these TV talent shows ,cus they don't give proper respect due to dance styles , especially popping , locking and bboy. The last bboy acts I saw on TV were the Groovaloos , KHZ(Knuckle Head Zoo) , and Jon Cruz who is a current winners circle contestant in the dance category.

Some1 that goes to a STAR search wont get ANY props of me. The Show is whack. The idea behind it also. I fuckin dont care if he was good or not.
The idea to MAKE stars is as dumb as it gets.
