Thumbs up What's The Worst Way You Have Lost A Battle? - 01-19-2004, 12:10 AM

I had just gotten windmills and felt really proud, I performed at my sister's graduation and got lots of girls screaming . I then decided to do the same thing at my own grad. When the hip hop began I bust my moves (Windmills only). The girls were amazed, but then this guy came out and start popping and combining worms and kneespins and totally blew me away . In the end I felt lame but I still got to dance with those girls .
After that I totally forgot how to do windmills and can't get them no matter how hard I try.

that doesnt even constitute as a battle. and why would windmills make girls scream? make them go "ooooh" maybe, but... you're no boy band member.

The way you wrote it makes me indeed think you did it only for the girls. Well to be honest, every1 has that part in himself. At leas at the beginning. HEy, we're just males. Thats ok. But dont let it be your major motivation..

But what keeps confusin me in bboyin still... in a battle noone can lose. No matter how hard you get beatin, its always an experience and you can learn from it. The other gets the "victory" if you wanna call it that, but you learned something. So, who got more benefits in the long run ?
Its not all about winning, to be part of it is sometimes even better. I hate to do everything just for a competition. There will be always one thats better than me, one thats better in the Wm, or wrms. Whatever... I'm not bboyin to beat others, i do it for me, and i'm gratefull for every1 thats better than me, they are the ones that can teach me new stuff and keep me interested in breakdance when i'm out of ideas. But thats a question of what you mean to get out of breakdance.

And as Russian said, noone's perfect.

Man, if you can windmill, i dont see how you can be that much of a poser, the way i see it, the windmill is the move that divides the posers and the bboys. i mean, to learn the windmill, ya really need to commit some time to breaking unlike alot of other "poser" moves such as the worm.

As for being beat in the battle, it happens, and i actually dont see how he could beat you if he done a worm :P i woulda just laughed the dopy idiot outta there.

And actually, girls scream from windmills (but then again im from australia - not that many breakers)

Codo
Its not the move that makes you look good, the way you perform it. I give more probs to some1 that does an uprock in a precise way of perfection and smoothness where you see he did it for like 1 year and made it to make it look better every week, than to some1 that starte to manage to do a windmill...

its very relative i think. But i think a windmill is a must-have move. Not to show others but its a really really really hard workway...

Yer, i mean, you can tell by a bboys style how long he's been breaking, and whether he's a bboy or a poser, but im just saying, windmill is the best and easiest way to tell as a rule of thumb.

Plus, someone who has bothered to learn the windmill should flog ANYONE who would just go out and do the worm and the kneespin, i mean, seriously, the worst mill would beat that lol

sorry dude, im from newcastle, and we have maybe 15 real breakers, and about 100 posers lol, so ya see, its pretty empty as far as that goes, basically we have 15 ppl in 2 crews, soon to be 3, with a few from each, but anyway, we then have about 2 posers per school, after that, well, yer, thats it

Lose A Battle? - 01-19-2004, 10:19 AM

Referring to the first post, I didn't get the impression that's EVEN A BATTLE. Is there something you missed in the post? I don't know unless you're viewing that the girl's screaming tells who the winner is... and then again, ALL you did was windmills, right? RIGHT? No toprock, footwork, anything??? It figures. If I were there to bust a toprock down to footwork, I'd bet the girls would be screaming louder for me instead. How could that be possible? It's style I'm talking about. Learn your lesson. You need style coz you'll definitely need it. And put it this way: If you think doing windmills seperates you from wanna-bes and posers, now how about challenging yourself by distinguishing yourself from the typical gymnasts? Oh, and how is it possible that you can forget how to do windmills? I can only reason that it's lack of practice that's responsible for that to happen...

In another matter, who says there were NO b-boys in Australia? I'm not sure if there're many in Australia or not but whoever said there were none is lying and that's for sure. That's because I just met an Australian breaker the day before. Bboy Stigma, that is. He's on a holiday here in my country and he posted in the forums for a jam session so I just invited him over to my place.

Btw, the thread's going off-track. Let's get back to the original thread: What's The Worst Way You Have Lost A Battle? Probably goes back to my newbie days whereby I got trashed infront of 800 and 5,000 people (two different functions). No matter, it made me tougher. Anybody can still beat me, but trashing me wouldn't be as easy as before... rest assured!

i was at a party and battled somon and i had those old and1 shos and my fot slipt in my topprock and ewerybody laft so i got to my fraind and took his and1 sneekers.

and about an hour later ther was this big circle and the one how i battled before was in there with his crew posing (they where the onley one how got skilzz expect me)
so i went in to the circle in front of his crew and run up to the gave them the talk to the hand shiit you know to get the crowd knowing it was personal.
so i starthed doing topprocks and jumo in to hand stand and back to a V-kick and chartweeld up to a 1-hand stand while giving them an FU#K you.

and the guys where posers anddident got no style so they fellt disst and that fellt good afther getting laft at.

Both good and bad exp.
