Sponsorships.... they are hard to get as a group, and even harder to get as a solo artist. Pretty much any company.. or even a single person with enough money or support can sponsor someone. Sponsorships vary from sponsor to sponsor.
You can get things, or your sponsor just funds your trips and stuff. Its a case by case thing. |

very nice. Very nice indeed. What does mecca do you for? do you have to practice a certian amount of hours per week?
I'm kind of eager to see who else is sponsored. |

theres a few ways to do it
u can write to companies and send them a video, the letter telling them what u want from this, what u can do for them and how it benefits them the most. the video showcasing ur skills, not to long.. or u can get lucky and have someone see you and like ur own personal touch on things and think they can benefit from it go to stores and get sponsors as well and talk to people, small sponsors at first but eventually when u meet bigger fish u can tell them u have experience dealing with things like this |
|
Dont bite the hand that feeds u, eventually everyone helping u will get annoyed...jesus.

No worries =)
if people wanna work on sponsorships, throw events and talk to people about helping out with them, its a good way to get in |

there's a bunch of crews sponsored by Tribal Gear. like havikoro and style elements.
kujo is sponsored by WildStyle Technicians. my crew is sponsored by RedBull, U92 Radio Station and a local hiphop store called Uprok. With RedBull, we did a couple things with them, they liked that things went so well, that now we do shows for them all the time and get free redbull all the time too. Uprok, that's where we practice everyday cause they got a floor in the back, so that one just naturally set itself in motion. and the Radio station, redbull hooked them up to sponsor an event my friend threw and it went well, so now there havin us do stuff for them. and speakin of the You Got Served movie, the radio station is doin a preshow premier in our area at a local club and their payin us to perform at the club. cool stuff. |

you think the area your in plays a big factor though?
like I'm in Ohio in a part where I've heard of like 1 other person that bboys..people have no knowledge of it..except what I've showed them..so when hip hop isn't a huge thing wouldn't you think it'd be harder to get a sponsor..or not? |

hey, in some ways it can hurt to live in a rural area that doesn't know much about hip hop, but in some ways it could help with local companies, because your diffrent and can bring something to the table no one else in ur community has.

hey guys, this sounds like a major oppurtunity. i live in montana, and not many people breakdance. i should go get a sponsor from someone at the mall or a radiostation. would i just walk in and say, hey i want a sponsor and am willing to perform and represent for you guys, and give them a video of my skills? then they would just enter me in local competitions and have me wear their clothes? sounds cool, ill have to look into this.

hey, thanks for the replys everyone. it's all clear to me now. I live in a rural area so hopefully that will help not hurt to here, like Avalon said. We're not great yet so i think we'll practice more before we try for any sponcers.
Is anyone else here sponcered? peace Edit: spelling |
