Koreans -
11-29-2003, 09:20 PM
Is it just me, or do the Koreans (at least in Korea) have CRAAAAAZY style and mad power? Just about every clip I have of any of them I never get tired of, I'm always left saying; "HOLY SHIT!". In Korea, is it something like what football and baseball is to Americans?
Please, I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way and think I'm being raciest. If anyone thinks this is racist, then I'll delete this post. Just want to know what you all think? Feel free to post clips . |

I think Korea has a lotta moves based on bites from U.S. dancers.
When I saw the BOTY 2002, I was amazed at how many moves looked like Rocadiles, Rolands, and other west coast dancers. Actually, not just Korea specifically, all of Europe and Asia. Seriously, it seems every battle of the year, all the other countries look more and more like what the U.S. is doing or was doing the year before. Airchairs were big in the U.S. last year, this year almost every crew used them extensively. The same thing happened with airflares and roll-backs. I'll probably take a lotta heat for this, but I'm aware of it, so I guess I don't care. |

every country do they own thing but they all seem to b inspired by usa which is tru...but the fact that they improved on usa's style and ways of bboying they'd get props. every1 bites off each other in ways

well they are short thats a BIG adventage for bboyin. so short = gettin moves faster so a korean can become a good bboy in 1 and a half years and a a tall person takes 2 years or so...

as a corean-american i'll like to point out as of 2002 world cup (soccer),
"korea" is now known as "corea"... "koreans" now "coreans" so on so on haha. Corea was my country's orginal name it was changed by the japanese, and changed back 2002. this is because prior to WW2, Japan took over Corea and changed the name to be after J in the Roman Alphabet. (J-K i hope you guys know your alphabets...) So it was jus a small detail that when asked by the world what the country's name was it was deemed "Korea", although it did not really matter it was recently corrected at the Corea/Japan world cup. Check your 2004 Atlas it will now say Corea. Keep in mind this is only for the Roman/Greek Alphabet and it did not actually have much of an affect on asian languages like korean or japanese. Arigato (thank you/Jap)...Gam Sah Ham Nee Da (thank you/Crn)... Merci (Thank you/french)...Thank You (uhh..English). -philly |

But also because of their upper body strength, I used to take Tae Kwon Do (the corean karate version) and man I was built.... I'd just like to point out that my friend is corean and can't bboy for shit, so not all coreans are as good as ya'll think. |

being corean doesn't make you a good bboy... nor does it make you short...
my friend is 15 yrs old and hes 6'1 and his 17 yr old brother is also over 6'0 too. and i have another 16 yr friend whos 6'0 so thats not exactly short in my book... unless your tryin to be in the NBA but i dont think you are. Saying all coreans are naturally good (break) dancers is like saying all black ppl are stupid, atheltic people. I dunno bout you but theres quite a few donut boys who could literally roll down a sidewalk. Stupid stereotypes. Personally I'm corean i suck at bboy'in... my friend has been bboyin barely 2 months less then me he busts halos already all i have are turtles/swipes and top/down rock even there im not any where near where i want to be in them. He doesnt work as heavily on his style as i do but he still has enough to actually be dancing not doing "tricks". I did tae kwon do for 4 years i was a black belt and i excercised regularally practicing even when i didnt have training with my master. Didn't help me at all in my opinion other then keep me from being a dumpling boy. -philly |

i personally think koreans aren't that short compared to chinese and southeastern asians, they are good but they aren't known for breaking, if you know what hmongs or miens are than you will know that they are widespread for breaking, i mean all of the hmongs and miens break its like there culture or something i dont get it

i dunno i don think koreans are way better than anyone else. i think its just cuz we're so far away from them that the clips we get to see showcase some of the best.
sorry to change the subject but airborn did you change your name cuz of that thread that showed the "air born crew" that looked like really bad posers? |

Vin Diesel and the Internet - relation? I THINK SO
Vin Diesel invented the internet while trying to steal cable TV. Contrary to popular belief, it was in fact Vin Diesel who invented the internet. Al Gore stole the designs when Vin fell asleep at his keyboard. http://www.4q.cc/vin/index.php |
