Height or Strength - 11-27-2003, 06:39 PM

this may seem weird, but here it goes

if u r tall and thin, and not so strong, OR if u were short and built, and stronger; which would b easier 2 bust moves?

btw, im like really thin and not so tall (bout 5'9'')

usually if u small u get speed and if u tall u a bit slower. thats why u always see asian ppl bustin out fast moves and usu big buff black guys dont get alotta speed but they got crazy power (ex: hollow back kinda shit)

EX: The Windmill, if a small guy does the windmill you'll see him wip around. Where as it'll take a big guy alot more spin power to get him around.

I'm 6'0 I think its a lil harder for taller b-boys cuz dey got longer body parts, such as legs which is a huge part n b-boyin. Shorter peeps have a better center of gravity so it is easier for them to balance, therefore giving them advantages n certain moves. All n all I try my best even wit my height, wut I lack for n power n certain freezes, I can tear peeps up n dancin n footwork naw mean.

I heard that taller people need alot more upperbody strength to pull off as much moves a smaller people.

i think its all about how strong you are in you upper body. i say this because im tall and somewhat thin(6.0') and i still am able to do shyt like handstands with no strugglin and with speed.

i'm about 6" an kinda skinny, but good enough. i have trouble doing mills, but not too much trouble with flares. i can do mostly power moves, which surprises me. i'm more power over style so i don't really think size matters, i got a huge friend who busts sick mills an style so i have no idea whats better, it depends on how you develop as a breaker in my opinion, with practice you can do anything, regardless of size.

peace.

height and strength both matter alot. its best to b short and strong like junior. its pretty much proven it'll b ezier for u to execute moves but powerwise, the longer ur legs the better it loox. capabiity wise i think shortness always beats giants

I think shorter people have the intial headstart in some powermoves and taller people probably need a bit more upperbody strength to do the same thing, but with practice they should be able to do it just the same.

taller peeps are definitely at a disadvantage, mostly with flares probably. i'm 5'5, but i think the perfect breaking height is about 5'7-5'9.

check my video guide in the Flare section of the Move Guides forum.
